Hi all

I just just bought a the triple set of these 2 days ago for my shiny new 500Mbps service (just moved to full fibre).

The price of the 3 pack had dropped to £139.99 but as I went to post those as a deal they have popped back up to over £190 again).

The 2 pack however is still at the lower price of £99.99 and only slightly less value at £50 per node (vs £46.67 per node for the triple pack before its price went up).

Having set these up and tested various placements / configurations I would have been fine with just 2 of these in my 20 year old 4 bedroomed house.

Unfortunately my "office" & desktop PC (where I want max performance) is now 1 floor and 3 rooms away from my new router.

My desktop is now connected to one to these nodes by cable (just cable from the node to the PC - no cable backhaul) & the desktop now gets the full 500 Mbps that the router provides. (same speed as my laptop connected directly to the router).

I am also getting between 350 Mbps and 420 Mbps on devices via WiFi (all my devices are a few years old so wont be taking full advantage of WiFi 6).

For £140 these do exactly what I wanted which is provide the full speed of my broadband service to my desktop and also gives the whole house (& garden) a strong WiFi connection without drilling holes or running ugly trunking all over the house.

I was previously using a triple set of Google WiFi and prior to that a cheaper set of TP-Link so not my 1st rodeo.

Admittedly they don't have all the software bells and whistles that more expensive sets have but most of us don't need those bells & whistles.

They also don't have 6e or Tri-Band but neither are they £300+.

I reckon bang for buck these fit the (my) bill perfectly.

Mercusys is essentially a "budget" range of TP-Link & has all the performance of the more expensive TP-Link ranges but without some of the software niceties and at a much lower price.

I have wasted money on numerous WiFi extenders and mesh systems and never found any of them to work very well, I found they are slower than the main router, they drop out alot or your connected to the mesh/extender but it isn't connecting to the actual internet, and then they also seem to interfere with each other because of the amount of signals and slow each other down. The best option I have used are power line adapters but obviously only for ethernet, I've currently got a power line adapter that has WiFi at the receiving end but I ended up turning the WiFi off on it for same reasons as above.

I actually tried my old BT 1 Gbps powerline adapters from my new router to the desktop & was only getting around 260 Mbps which was disappointing considering I'm in a reasonably new house with good wiring.

Now getting my full 500 Mbps service to my desktop through these so am a much happier chappie. (edited)
