A picture of nice mug of Ovaltine and/or Horlicks would be nice too.

    Pedals: Not included

Seems a bit unusual, is this a description error?

Standard for most road bikes. Generally people buying them may want something different than the cheapest pedal the manufacturer includes .i.e. clipless

At £550 I'd expect to see Sora or Tiagra. Claris is shimano's entry level groupset

You'll be lucky! You can just about get sora for £850 and tiagra for £1000 on a good day...unless you are looking at Scott who seem to think charging £800 for tourney and £1000 for claris is OK

Solid gateway bike this .. Gateway to an empty wallet after a few upgrades and then deciding a 4k entry level Carbon pony is needed

Not many people need to spend anything like 4k on a bike. Most competitive club cyclists spend much less than that.

In my experience expensive road bikes are mostly bought by affluent middle aged novice recreational riders and they pootle around the country lanes on them at a very modest pace, usually in too high a gear..

Sickens me to think it would cost me more to replace my rear derailleur than this entire decent bike.
    Swarfega's avatar
What derailleur costs more than £550?

Good bikes these, nearly bought the more expensive GRX version but same frame etc. This would be a great do it all commuter, casual rider bike with no real upgrades needed. Moves well on the road, gravel paths and fireroads etc.

I have GRX, I actually prefer my Tiagra

Another really great value bike, it's great to see so many deals on decent bikes instead of Argos BSOs.

BSO is one of my favourite acronyms.
