sorted byMy experience: So I have a SP9 blue, i5 8GB 256GB and my battery didn't last very long, so I called their UK support and it is shocking how bad MS support actually is for the surface. Calls just drop when talking, engineers sound like they have woken up, no manager on the line.
Cut a long story MS twice replaced my SP9 both time has come back with cosmetic scratches on the front and back but does have a new battery lol.
2 months on I am still battling with them. just my 2 pence worth
So will send mine back again for dead pixels, although screen flickering is a new issue I haven't seen before. Still wonder if they will run out and I can get a newer model.
Yeah the battery thing I assumed was my mum didn't know what was going on. My bad, didn't check it till it was too late. 10 minute battery down to 5 down to dies of unplugged. Super lame on that SP5.
For you, just do it online. If its in warranty they are usually pretty good, done 3 or 4 exchanges with this laptop so far. Second your out of warranty its game over though.
Hopefully you aren't in charge of heavy machinery or drive
