We use Motorola walkie talkies at our charity. From experience, those with ranges of 8km+ provide by far the best experience. And one key thing to look out for; privacy channels! If you don't have them, you'll likely pick up all sorts of interference...

We tried with some more basic walkie talkies, but found them to be SO frustrating (both for range and interference)! Pay more, or you'll probably find them as annoying as we did and stop using them

These can pick up the motorbike instructors if you keep one in your car...

Wouldn't you need big lugs to keep an instructor safely tucked away? 👂
    *Edit*
Sorry I misread 'car' as 'ear'😁 (edited)

These are the same as all the junk brands on amazon which appear under 1000's of different names and can be had much cheaper

I'm sure these would meet most people needs. But there are all these better Chinese things on AliExpress for less.

I remember there was controversy/ridicule because Russian forces in Ukraine had been using cheap Baofeng radios and requesting family members buy more to send to them.

But they must be pretty good if people in a war zone want them.

Those Baofengs are ok. They get the job done...to a degree. But I'm surprised the Russians want them. Their range isn't close to that of the Motorola's we use (T82 Extreme's for reference).

I guess the Russian's are happy with anything they can get. But I wouldn't want to be in a war zone with Baofeng's!
