Next best: The LG ThinQ smart speaker is a resounding success. Warm, well-balanced sound pleased our discerning expert listening panel, and being able to use just the Google Home app to set it up was a very smooth process. If you're looking for a modern speaker that'll excel across a wide range of genres, look no further than the LG ThinQ.

In that case, best buy from Which? for less than £100 is: Anker SoundCore Flare Anker has played a blinder with the SoundCore Flare. In one fell swoop it has steamrolled through the long-established audio brands to net our highest-scoring portable speaker score since 2015. It may have a fun lightshow and useful waterproofing, but at its heart it's a sensational-sounding speaker that's a dream to use. It's well-deserved - Anker's first-ever Best Buy speaker.

Mainly Bluetooth and DAB+ . Not overly fussed with the assistant.

It depends on your requirements. Do as you just want a Bluetooth speaker for music, a DAB radio, a voice assistant, or all three? Mains-only or mains/battery?

What a shame. Nifty little design and good price. I'm surprised considering its PURE. Any similar alternatives anyone can recommend for similar price?

I bought one for £9.99 last summer and tried it between Leicester and Skegness and the signal was awful.

Looks like gimbal🤪 XD 😝

I picked one up last year, reduced to £12.99. They're good generally although you do get interference sometimes when a car pulls up alongside you.

I use a portable dab radio ...use aux cable ..plays through my radio in the car no problem..

Even with a DAB aerial I find DAB coverage is sketchy in the Car...must be awful on this without an external DAB aerial

Got this for £15 as well a few years ago, as a radio running from the mains is fine and we use it alot But it is complete tosh if used on battery it won't pick up stations just popping sounds.

Why do all RDS radio's look like absolute you know what. What about some modern looking radio's?

Yeah, I got one too. IIRC, they were £15 which was a steal. As already pointed out, not a great portable radio as battery life isn't that good. Just leave mine plugged in.

I got one last time it was posted. It's not DAB+ so can be a bit limiting, other than that it's fine.

I’ve got this in blue no complaints but I think it was £20 almost 3 years ago

Got mine this morning and it's a nice little system. Even though it's only 10w, it sounds pretty much on par with the 25w system it's replacing. The only downside is the LCD display looks a bit crap.

My majority eats batteries - 4 brand new batteries are dead in about 20 minutes - have used good rated brands & rechargable batteries - I was using a am/fm superradio from radio shack in the Usa for about 13 years - bought some cheap pansonic batteries in the Dollar shop in the US when I bought the radio - didnt have to change the batteries for 6 Years yes you heard right 6 years & used constantly for about 2 hours a day, couldnt believe that they were lasting so long, then replaced with some cheap Tesco batteries that lasted for another 7 years, when replaced the batteries again the radio failed which is fair enough after almost 14 years of working perfectly - the Superradio was the best rated on Amazon back in 2000's when Amazon reviews were somewhat believeable - don't trust them now. I refuse to use the Majority even on electricty as a radio shouldnt need massive amounts of power & its seems all these Dab radios eat batteries at least my Majority little shelford does and its highly rated on amazon - its the final nail in the coffin for Amazon reviews as far as I'm concerned now aswell.

BBC local radio. I’ll have a look at Garden Radio. Thanks (y)

Mine arrived too in Norwegian, the packing slip had instructions on how to change it. Not looked for or spotted an equaliser. Working great around the house, will take it on my run later which is what I got it for and see how it handles that.

Got mine this morning, ideal for my car using lead connected to input on radio (old car no dab). Only question is, where is the equaliser in menu cannot find it? Anyway its great for price, heat added!

I love CDs, particularly pre 'loudness war' originals from the 80s. Feel sorry for the people who've fallen for the great vinyl scam peddled by the record companies.

Who listens to CDs? How about people who have been buying and listening to CDs for the last 30+ years and want to continue to listen to them? And it does play CD-R with MP3.

We've got this, good wee bit of kit with a handy remote. Got it from the Panasonic ebay outlet for £45 in 2018, though they don't seem to have them currently.

Ok I get the DAB but who listens to CD's anymore unless it plays MP3's?

Great stereo and a good price use mine daily had it two years now

I bought the tstak variant, it’s class, but daft money for a big bulky radio. Got it cranked up in the garden now.

Great speaker for the money. When I had it it was just a bit too heavy for me. It's a beast. However it's great for the garden, camping anything outdoors. It is loud and the battery lasts for ages. I'd buy it again if I needed it, have my eyes on the tstak version but refuse to pay the money for it.

Mine’s still sat in its box as my car has been in for repairs for 8 weeks now. Had hoped to fit during the lockdown but looks like I’ll squeeze into a weekend when all’s back up and running. Hope it works ok as it’ll be past return window if anything isn’t tip top!

Gone back up to 79.95 :(

I can't see why a convertible would be any different to anything else assuming there is some trim on the inside of the A pillar to run the cable for the windscreen antenna. HINT: If this this comes with one of those aerials that is supposed to magnetically stick to the underside of the roof, then just ditch it and get a £10 sticky windscreen aerial. Far, far better IMO so long as you make sure that you get a good ground contact with the A pillar. To make sure you do that, scrape paint off (UNDER THE TRIM!!) where the metal/copper tape is going to stick so that the tape contacts metal rather than paint. I've used cheapo DAB sticky aerials in two cars now and reception has been absolutely spot on. I think people who complain about cheap aerials don't understand how important it is to make a very good ground contact. I have one of these (but a lesser model) at the moment in my Volvo V50 plugged into the aux and use it 99% of the time when driving. It has been as good as my previous DAB head unit.

I haven't used one of these devices but I have DAB in my van and travel from Suffolk to The East Midlands up the M1 regularly. BBC stations are usually solid on the whole route and in Suffolk. Absolute Radio & XFM can be patchy here in Suffolk but once I get to civilisation they are fine. If you're cruising the M1 you should be getting good reception on a wide range of stations. I didn't stream nearly as much now that I can get clear reception on a series of DAB stations. (y)

Does anyone have any experience fitting one of these to a convertible?. I would like to upgrade my Audi A4 convertible. Thank you.
