Probably a stupid question, but I always get suspicious when they tell you what is included and never been on a cruise before......what isn't included in the price? What will I need to pay for still?

You could pretty much not spend a penny if you really wanted to (assuming tips are included in this fare) all meals, entertainment etc are included. Drinks are not, apart from things like juice and hot drinks at the buffets.

Not a bad deal for a 7nt one compared to current prices but has previously been £100+ cheaper (see here) - given it's more than 8 months away until the departure, I'd be tempted to hold out for a lower price.

We use these winter trips as filler if we don't find anything else to do.

The move to an older ship and having done 2 winters with new ships I think the demand may need lower prices to fill the ship.

Marella are redeploying Discovery 2 there may be something interesting when the release the new itinerary come out.

I'm sure it's a great deal, but (in my opinion which no one asked for) I do not understand the appeal of being trapped on a boat for a week with sweaty families and screaming kids, surrounded by water in all directions. What am I missing?

Nothing, you just keep that opinion without seeing for yourself and the rest of us can enjoy the cheap spaces left available.

Why have they put a picture of the Eiffel Tower? Le Haver is about 200km from Paris! That's like dropping off at Birmingham to visit the Tower of London!
Likewise, Zeebrugge isn't really a trot down the road from Bruges!

Do they drive you to those destinations or do they just kick you off the ferry to make your own way there? (edited)

They will have coach trips on offer or you can make your own arrangements.

We did Bruges no problem from Zebrugge.

Hopefully there will be a few solo cruises this year. I had a cheap 12 day one last december.

Was that on P&O to Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar? Sadly, I haven't seen anything like that without paying two or three times as much.

How are cruises after Covid? I went regularly before Covid but haven't been since. I've heard they are keeping food and drink to a minimum level. Is that true?

I got covid on my last cruise
What do you mean by minimum level? Plenty of food around and drink is either PAYG or AI?

Just when kids go back to school :-)

These cabins look tiny, where do the kids sleep if you book for 4?
    deep.thought's avatar
    Usually two Pullman beds

Bloody hell! Great price. I can live with this itinerary, but can’t take kids out of school again.
