    No PCIe 5.0 - Don't need it
    No USB 3.2 Gen 2
    No WIFI
Lacking in PCIe slots if you want to add above functions
    Only 2 x DDR5 slots
    Only 1 x M.2 slot

Basic spec, not great value for money but cheapish entry to AM5. I wouldn't bother myself but if you're that strapped for cash stick to AM4 or LGA1700 options I would say.

I could live with everything there except the one M.2 slot. That's a real killer.

Glad to see the inclusion of PS/2 ports and VGA on this cutting edge board.

Negligible performance difference with the 7800x3d on this Vs x670 in tests apparently.

Which is all that really matters.

Be wary of MSI AM5 / DDR5 motherboards. Their Carbon X670E has had an issue with PCIe slot 3 that hasn't been resolved in months:

It's put me off ever buying a MSI mobo again. They are aware of the issue, they just can't fix it (it worked with initial stock bios)

    PCIe slot 3
That's not a problem with this board...

Lower end cpus are non existent to go with a low end motherboard

Price wise though, £200+ isn’t low end. Would be good to see a sub £150 cpu from AMD, similar to what Intel did with the 12100f. A great cpu at a very reasonable price.

The late 80's dialed up and wanted their connectors back.

If it had an AGP 3.0 graphics slot, I would be all over this like a rash.

AMD need to release some lower end CPU's to match up with this board, the 7600 is still £225 inc stock cooler, decent 2x8GB of going to be £60-70, though you can some low latency CAS 30 2 x 16GB for approx £130 now.

price is good, but could do with some cooling on those power VRMs

Should go superhot for the AMD fans

So will the VRM's by the looks of it, it's a great price all the same

Didn't even know this existed. AM5 CPUs are quite expensive atm so only makes sense to pair with a semi decent motherboard. As for the AM5 platform, this is a great deal to get into.

Yeah who would pair a high end cpu and probably gpu with this motherboard??

Yes it's the new A620 chipset AMD has just released, except many more of these and in many variations just to make life difficult.
Many more sub £100 to come.

The AM4 equivalent is £60. Basic A620 for the price of a decent B550 last year.

Try find anything like it in pricing?

It's the lack of pcie5 that kills future proofing for me. I'd want to run a new am5 for 8-10 years which will need a new GPU halfway.
From what I've read 4xDDR5 kills the speed so you only want 2. Only 1 boot drive so minimal gain on an extra M2 and who needs WiFi on a desktop anyway?

I thought that and then the pc went in the front room with no router near it. Usb WiFi dongle works perfectly though

    finally.

the AM5 platform CPU efficiency compared to intel is worth the upgrade. AMD are doing great ghins for CPU and GPUs

conventional thinking usually goes "spend extra on the motherboard and power supply- you'll thank yourself at upgrade time"

What people are missing with this is it only supports up to 120w CPU. 650 still best budget option (edited)
