About this deal

Back on offer - lowest price I have seen for a motherboard with the top X670E chipset. Has a PCIe 5.0 card slot and NVME slots.A cheaper version of the MSI X670E Tomahawk but supports a Thunderbolt connector.

I have this MB and it's spot on. Make sure you change the bios setting for RAM learning on every boot, takes a good 30 seconds off your boot time and is still rock solid.

Taking into account that my am4 pc boots in like 12 seconds... What are you on about?

I was looking to get ASUS Rog strix x670e-e but that’s almost double the price. Is this equally good ?

This is a lower tier board than the ASUS Rog Strix X670E-E but does most of the same things. Asus boards tend to be more expensive to start with and as for actual differences; the Asus has Intel 2.5GbE instead of Realtek 2.5GbE which used to be a selling point but not so much anymore due to the Intel issues. The Asus also has more PCI-E 5.0 slots and PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slots but PCI-E 5.0 is pointless for 99.99% of people. More USB-C ports on the back, slightly better onboard audio and power delivery but this isn't really a concern again for most people as overclocking is very niche now.

I'd honestly look at a B650 board personally (saying this as a X670E owner) because for most users it will be basically the same for less money. Almost all have enough PCI-E lanes, 2.5GbE, Wifi 6/6E, plenty of M.2 slots and USB ports etc.

Would have gone for this if I hadn’t purchased Asus ROG STRIX B650E-E for £220!!
