Isn't this like Phillip amilight TV? What is the advantage? Does the screen appear larger 9r something???? Did Phillips ambiight fail? Think it was a gimmick.....!

    - Yes, but a very primitive version displaying only a single static colour/shade at a time
    - Advantage of this is that it can be transferred from TV to TV - unlike Ambilight which remains fixed to the TV it came with
    - The screen size appears the same, adds to the visual effect. Can be especially useful to reduce eyestrain in completely dark rooms - a static 6500K being the optimal colour temperature apparently hightechdad.com/201…ew/
    - Philips Ambilight never failed, wherever did you hear that from?!
    - NO, Ambilight is not a gimmick...

    - ... but it's cool if it doesn't quite tickle your retinas (edited)

Ambilight is brilliant you need to see it in a dark room to really appreciate it. I love mine.

Prior to that I had a Govee strip like this, it was about 50-60 quid and was OK I suppose but nothing compared to ambilight (edited)

The postage is more expensive than the product. Admittedly I bought a long time ago but it was far cheaper on Aliexpress sellers, except you have to wait longer for delivery.

How does this work exactly? Is it just a basic LED light strip where the colour randomly changes from one to another? Or is there more science behind it?

it seems to have this so i guess it takes in the hdmi signal and works out what colours do display? cool if so!
