Worth noting that the pencil is just the 1st gen lightning version and a USB C adapter is enclosed with it. The pencil itself isn’t USB-C! (edited)

wow that's utter garbage

What am I missing? What's the benefit of having USB C? Isn't it only the iPad Pro's that have USB C port? Which the pencil wirelessly charges from.

Yeah, to save a few quid Apple made the whole pencil thing confusing... So the new iPad, that's USB C and looks like it could use the 2nd gen pencil, can't use the 2nd gen pencil but still uses the first gen pencil... But then you have to use a dongle to charge it as you can't charge it directly from the iPad any more (although that did look ridiculous anyway...)

Perfect timing needed this as a gift for my mother

For those thinking of trying, although Unidays 20% discount stacks on the already discounted Gen 2 pencil, it doesn't work on the Gen 1 edit: spoke with O2, apparently its because the Gen 1 is 'bundled' with an USB adapter the Gen 1's alone are all sold out (edited)

Well done they may cancel 20% discount on 2nd gen too.

This is as good as it gets, right? Never been cheaper than that

Must be a mistake.

Do people actually find the pencil useful? Seems like such a niche device.

For artists and students it is super useful. I don’t see it being any useful for anyone else

GEN2 is miles better as it wireless charges on the side, but this is still good

But which iPad support that? I’d rather replace my pen with a gen2 (dropped it too many times) but even if it works with my old iPad pro 10.5 - is there a way to charge it?
