    Then simply run a cable providing USB power ADJACENT to the unit. That doesn't count as permanently installing the camera. - it's still just plugged in and able to be dismounted without tools. The same for essentially anything else - if it is plugged in and not wired in - it's an accessory and not a modification.

    They must have put the price up on these recently as they were this price a few weeks ago. Just check it first before you route the cable as mine was dead.

    This! Especially anything where you have to cut wires to length, or open packets of mounting screws, etc. Just try it out unfixed, first. Even then, for some companies - beginning with the letter C - it can be a nightmare returning anything, even in the first month. Look at their returns policy before buying. Companies with a good returns policy may cost a little more - but you pay for what you get...
