sorted byI get 38Gb which is about the max the connection can do.
The router is NR801
Dynamic DNS services supported by this router are dyndns.org, no-ip.com and dyns.cx
Regular disconnections are around 01:30 am, maybe for updates/maintenance. Current router firmware version is Firmware Version 4.33.0200.R (no information about this anywhere online)
Even though I connected in March my connection was still eligible for the increased broadband fees, which is shocking but industry standard BS practice. (edited)
Vodafone's router is far from great. but it is better than this. 4 Ethernet ports vs 2. Longer WiFi range. More customisation support etc.
I Don't believe it's possible to migrate your number backwards once already on digital voice. So you would have to go to another provider who supports this, or wait for Now TV to do it.
No issues with reliability and cashback tracked straightaway.
You cannot set the now/sky router to modem-only mode, best you can do is just disable the WiFi.
You will then have to set the mesh system to (I think) access point mode or equivalent so that they do not attempt any routing function, and leave that to the Now router.
Edit. aha found it on tcb/uswitch info page - you need to have left more than 2 years ago to be eligible for Now BB cashback on TCB/Uswitch (edited)
For comparasan I have 1Gbps and the price was £30/month when I took the contract.
Didn't vote regardless.
I know a lot of people who are like you don’t need 150Mbps, or XMbps… and that it’s all marketing. It’s funny really.
I cannot wait for the day that 36Mbps and 63Mbps are replaced by the lower tier full fibre plans; 100, 150 or whatever the lowest is there.
Any help is appriciated
Service wise, gone down a handful of times in 3 years, usually overnight/early hours. Longest was around 6 hours I think?. I do use my own ubiquiti router and access points though, so can't comment on their issued routers, most ISP issued routers are rubbish for Wi-Fi anyway in my experience.
"We wanted to remind you that your NOW Broadband Membership is out of contract, and let you know what your options are.
To help you decide which one is right for you, we've put together this handy summary.
Do nothing and continue with your existing membership.
You're currently paying £23.00 a month and this will change to £26.50 a month by 12/07/23."
So we 'did nothing' and got a bill for £46.00.
I contacted them. Now they won't even honour their own email increased offer of £26.50. They want £31.00 but still haven't done anything about the £46.00.
So check the bottom of the email & it may have a line like this
This includes discounts totalling £15.00 a month. Your first discount will expire 10/06/2023.
So inlaws had there existing price from may till 10/6/23 & then it went up.
The emails is very unclear as it clearly states at the top "Do nothing and continue with your existing membership for £18.00 a month" & thats what they did.
Had no joy on the phone to NOW, they would not even offer the offer price in the email & ended up having to pay more.
hopefully i won't have any issues.
Is it 1 or 2 years?...
