Seems to be the cheapest Z690 chipset motherboard I can find, has decent reviews and cheaper than a B660 board. Plus it takes DDR4 memory.

Remember that NZXT don't support RGB RAM colour sync with any brands, So plain LPX type RAM is the best bet for these boards, unless you want more software installed other than NZXT CAM

Which is actually a good selling point.

    Non blink blink mobo

Bought this motherboard from AWD a few months back after just missing out on the £99 deal direct from NZXT.

Wanted to upgrade to a 13600K without spending crazy money on another similar spec z690 or z790 and DDR5.

There's a very generous 4 M2 slots on this MB, 3 on the front and 1 on the back of the motherboard. Also has the all important BIOS flashback.

Only negatives are the CAM software for RGB not being easy to use. And having to remove the VRM heatsink to install my Arctic Freezer II. You can put the heatsink back on once fitted though, just something to note for those looking at combining with AIO's. (edited)

Been away from PC components for couple of years, but are intel boards a thing again?

what you're really asking is "are Intel CPUs competitive again?"

    and yes they are.

Will this support 13th gen from the start or does it need updating first?

What would be an OK cpu for this if wanting a budget PC, running a 3060 GPU.

I have a v old 4790 CPU dell with a 1060 and it actually plays everything I need (mainly young sons gaming PC), but was thinking of updating to something at least a little more modern - without going current gen/big bucks.

    Any 12/13th would run

Just get a 12400f if money is a concern (edited)

There were under £100 not long ago.

Time machine and all but don't think this board is worth it over, good for a z690 budget build. (edited)

Overall sounds like a good motherboard with Wi-Fi 6e built in, multiple PCIe slots and M.2 slots. Heat added

Good price but DDR 4 put me off.

    Why is DDR5 important?

Got this in the £99.99 sale, running with an i9 13900k for the past month. So far faultless.

Initially did not boot so had to update the Bios but luckily it can be done with the usb bios flashback feature, so no 12th gen CPU required!
