It was with OMEGA’s maritime legacy in mind that the brand launched its Planet Ocean line in 2005. Today, the stylish OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer pays homage to OMEGA’s dive watch heritage.

This model, with its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, features a blue ceramic dial with Arabic numerals and a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The blue ceramic unidirectional bezel with OMEGA Liquidmetal™ diving scale is mounted on a 39.5 mm stainless steel case.

Other features include an alveol screw-in caseback and a stainless steel bracelet with patented extendable foldover clasp

The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer is water resistant to 600 metres / 2000 feet / 60 bar, and has a helium-escape valve. The OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8800 at the heart of this timepiece can be seen through the transparent caseback. To achieve Master Chronometer status, it has passed the 8 rigorous tests set by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).

    Is there a woman’s version

This is 39.5 mm and would be my size of choice. There’s a 43mm version but I think most people these days prefer something smaller. I have a few watches some are 43mm and tbh I don’t wear them anymore, even my seamaster at 42mm feels on the larger side and I don’t have a small wrist. Daily watch currently is a Tudor black bay pro 39mm and size wise for me is pretty much perfect 👌

Personally I'd buy secondhand from a reputable or authorised store, the initial depreciation on these is obscene, admittedly this being on offer may take some of that hit. (edited)

A seller on eBay called Kensington Gate Watches is my go to. Reputable seller and always has a lot of pre-owned omegas in new condition

Could anyone tell me why to buy this instead of £50sh watch? Is it because omega?
    keebb9's avatar
If you need to ask, stick with your £50 watch.

Always remember a guy I worked with buying that several years ago, he paid under £2500 and at the time that was a lot , now the prices are ridiculous.

I doubt anyone who is able to afford this watch would be bothered to even visit this site for deals

Why do some watches cost thousands of pounds? Do they use some special material cost much more than normal watches which cost few hundred pounds?
    Christee4's avatar
To an extent, brand image and marketing are a huge part, precision intricate movements, quality of materials all add too, prices hugely inflated since 2019 though. You can buy a £400 Tissot and it does the same thing, but you can also buy a Dacia instead of a BMW (edited)

I bought a Seamaster Pro Ceramic about 10 years ago and a Speedmaster Pro 1861 Moonwatch 3 years ago. I wouldn't be able to afford them now at the prices they are, the price increases are insane.

Lovely and petite, one for each finger!

Pays actors too much too promote them!
    Bendown's avatar
It clearly works though, people are paying 5 - 6 thousand for them now a days so their plan is working.

I can't believe I bought a sea master for just shy of £800 but that was 20 years ago. Worn the he'll out of it and it's probably still worth what I paid. I do question at this price that would still happen.
    Bendown's avatar
More than likely worth 3 times what you paid for it now.
