    The problem with these toothbrushes is that disposable alkaline batteries will drop in voltage as they drain, resulting in steadily poorer performance until new batteries are swapped in.

    agree, i started with a battery powered toothbrush and everything depends on the quality of the alkaline/saline batteries you use. I prefer the electric powered toothbrush as it's more stable the performance.

    Same price on Amazon, I wanted to post the deal yesterday, but somebody else was faster than me. I consider this for my son, but I have 2 concerns:
    - reviews suggest it is very Lound
    - not sure how easy it is to find the replacement heads and how cheap they are.

    I bought these recently for myself and my two girls and all works fine. To be honest I wouldn't know how it compares to more expensive models regarding how loud it is as it's my first electric toothbrush but my girls have more expensive ones at my ex's and they haven't said anything about how loud they are. I don't think they are to loud.

    Replacement heads are easy to find., there just the normal oral b ones or there are cheaper heads availble on amazon.
