Why? Not gonna run any different. Dependant on your personal needs.

I keep a 3.0 micro b cable always plugged in as my pile of external hdds and ssds are pretty much all 3.0 micro b. Only got a single USB C drive and have to get a wire from the drawer every time.

Adata ED600 is the most reliable one that I've owned. Unfortunately, with the current SSD prices, it costs the same as some SSDs.

Anyone know of any good 7mm ones that don't fit 9.5mm also? Basically all SSDs are 7mm so it's a bit annoying that the enclosures always have the extra thickness which most people don't need (edited)

Many SSD came with a plastic adapter stick in to increase size. Have loads laying around, never had a need for erm really. Most 2.5 closures nowadays come with optional stick on padding to take up the space.. The last 3.2 USB C Orico one I purchased came with 2. (edited)
