    Good price! Heat!

Just remember that the 7800xt comes out next week! Will have 16gb of Vram and probably an edge on performance.

Just something to keep in mind depending on your priorities

Edge on raster, worse on games with any serious Ray tracing.

Puts them on a par for me, but 4070 suits me with it's lower power consumption and better features like dlss 3.5 coming.

Please please do not buy at this price. Notice today almost every AMD and Ngreedia GPU is at its lowest non-error price in the UK. Why? Cos of the imminent 7800XT and 7700XT launch, and the bursting of the GPU price bubble.

The vastly BETTER 4070TI will soon be around 550 quid (and not cheap at that price, given its terrible performance in Starfield, and awful 12GB of VRAM). The heavily cut down 4070 is junk above 350, but will sell like hot cakes for Ngreedia around 400 (where Ngreedia will be very happy to get that).

i am going to hold you on that

Still depressingly overpriced for what you get.

Indeed. I bought an OC 1070 back in 2016 shortly after launch for £320 which adjusted for inflation is about £416 today. So these having an MSRP at £600 is quite a big step up in price. At 450 this would be more reasonable.

I've been waiting since 2019 for a GPU, I'm really tempted to just order a 4070 now but a friend is telling me some AMD cards are about to drop and may bring the price down further on them all. But by the time that's happened the 15% off offer has ended so I don't know what to do!
This seems to be the cheapest 4070 I can find, is this particular card decent?

get the 4070 £500 if your really have to, it will be better than 7800XT in every way outside the 16gb VRAM which will be release at the same price

i got a 2070S and was looking to upgrade this gen but it turns out both AMD/Nvidia gone crazy with price

Finally a big reduction, still not buying but good to finally see it have a big drop. Might of been tempted if this was last month but I've convinced myself to wait for the 50 series now

    Waiting until 2025?

So I am currently looking at my first gaming PC (either self build or pre-built). I sent through my requirements and Palicomp sent back this deal...

    palicomp.co.uk/amd…ac7

But if I am looking at a self-build, is this a good enough deal to purchase right now or do you think it's better wait and do a little more planning?

Total budget for the system is £1500-2000. The max spec I can get for gaming and video editing. Not sure how much of a bargain this deal is?

Imagine being known on a deal site as the gpu guy that spouts nonsense, what a legacy to leave behind. Reminds me of that oled judder guy on every single oled deal. Getting real stale now lol.
    Garth2022's avatar
It will be stale when you don't have to pay half a grand for the low-mid end card 😄
