I'm not sure if I've done something wrong but I bought one of these a few months ago and it's now 40% full. But now the write speeds are atrocious. I'm talking 12MB/sec. I'm not kidding.

It's so bad that I decided to format it to see if there was something wrong with it before. So with it now being empty writes are back to normal, but for how long...

FYI the drive uses QLC and is DRAMless (edited)

Mine does the same thing, I thought it was broke. I even swapped all my sata cables. Never gets near the rated speeds. Just did a test with AS SSD and it scored 417.09 MB/s read and 7.36 MB/s write. It's not always that bad, it's normally in the 30-100 MB/s range for write speed but sometimes it just goes incredibly slow. That's with 270GB free. If I have to leave half the drive empty to get decent speeds then what's the point of it being 2TB.

    Avoid.

Remember when I used to say “Below £100 is my biting point!”.
Looking at those prices, wonder what new biting point I should go for and deprave myself further from owning one is? 🤪
    £65?;) (edited)

Time for expectation reset. "Biting point for 4TB is below £100".
