I'm new to Protein supplements, can someone tell me what's the benefit? I'm trying to bring my weight down and currently do consistent 5k run 5 times a weeks and wondered if this could help in building strength and probably help me run further and faster and in the process help shed some weight.

Weight loss is ultimately achieved by being in a calorie deficit.

To build strength, you need to be doing some strength or resistance training and be progressively overloading each week/workout (adding more weight to each workout, or additional reps, etc.)

A high protein diet, alongside a slight calorie deficit, will help keep muscle mass but when it boils down to it, just think of protein powders as any other type of food. It's just an easy way to supplement your diet with protein. They're not necessary but it's an easy way of getting protein in, if that makes sense?

It has sucralose, and i still have 4 packs which are going in the bin.

You've been consuming sucralose your entire life and you're fine..

Life is dangerous, none of us make it out alive.

It contains sucralose, study done recently. It's all over the news. Google it. (edited)

Too much of this artifical rubbish (stevia aside). Just put sugar in it!

It says on the label to take 1 scoop per day (23.4g protein), and recommended not to go over.
What's the reason for this? The artificial sweetener?

Or am I reading the label wrong? (edited)

I bought this and the scoop they provide is not even 30g it's more like 45g. So if your tracking macros beware

No idea what this flavour is like but I got the vanilla PBN (2.7kg) for £30 a couple of weeks ago. I'm really enjoying it, IMO it's much better than Bulk etc that I've used in the past.

This is the best flavour in pbn

Can this be used as a meal replacement?
    jimferno's avatar
No, it's a whey protein supplement.

Think you will find the best selling and popular powders all contain sucralose and not just the cheaper ones.

Feel there needs to be a site offering insights into this stuff. I need some more powder, ideally isolate as I feel it mixes better but now I don’t know which way to turn. I take it a couple of times a week after a super hard session to stop me aching

1kg is £11.90 on subscribe and save which makes it £1 cheaper per kg

I typed PBN into YouTube and got their music track.

The PBN stuff has been hovering around this price for a few weeks now (after getting beyond £50 a few months back).

I’m not a huge fan of this flavour, but generally they’re nice and mix well so would recommend the PBN stuff.

Unavailable for me! (I'm in Ireland)

Is this a good price now? I posted a deal when it was £26 back in November and been on Myprotein stuff for a while. It's pretty good IMO taste wise. Mixes well for me although I use a Blendtec blender which would mix a phone well tbf.

I used to see protein at £10/kg a good base line, but having a hard time seeing that anywhere recently.

This stuff is great, it's been my go to for the last few months as other brands are taking the **** with their prices.

Nothing untowards or unnecessary in the ingredients, mixes well, tastes great.

    Better not, staying with isolate.

It says Isolate in the ingredients

Nice deal, I've just this flavour for months and tastes good. Others I've tried have had that 'whey powdered milk' after taste which this doesn't so much. I mix it with porridge for a nice breakfast. Just tried Vanilla too which is also nice.
