In FTL you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions. What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.

Key Features:

Complex Strategic Gameplay - Give orders to your crew, manage ship power distribution and choose weapon targets in the heat of battle.

Play at Your Own Speed - Pause the game mid-combat to evaluate your strategy and give orders.

Unique Lifeforms and Technology – Upgrade your ship and unlock new ones with the help of six diverse alien races.

Be the Captain You Want - Hundreds of text based encounters will force you to make tough decisions.

Randomized Galaxy - Each play-through will feature different enemies, events, and results to your decisions. No two play-throughs will be quite the same.

No Second Chances! - Permadeath means when you die, there's no coming back. The constant threat of defeat adds importance and tension to every action.

Been on this over 100 hours. What a price! Game is a bit difficult but worth learning to get better. The multiverse mod is even better than the actual game! It's really addictive. Couldn't recommend FTL enough. Price is ridiculous value. Heat added

I've wasted WAY TOO MUCH of my life with this game. Its great! Works brilliantly on the steam deck also.

I returned to this game recently after not having played it for seven years. I only logged in because I randomly noticed that it has achievements now, so thought I'd see how many I naturally unlocked. I naturally fired up a game and got sucked right back in again. This game hasn't just aged well; it's positively timeless. If you somehow haven't played it yet and have even the slightest interest in commanding your own spaceship, you absolutely must.

absolutely - just remember NEVER chance it with Giant Alien Spiders. Its supposed to be a 50/50 chance, but seems like a 99% chance you'll lose a crewmember in my experience

Great game with a decent amount of replay value.

Seems like a bargain at this price.

Great game but the difficulty ramps up quickly.

Looks like Sundog from the Atari ST

How apt to be called FTL then!

Tip for those struggling - when things get out of control, i.e. theres a fire or you're getting boarded just press space to pause and you can still carry out all your actions then unpause. Makes the game way more manageable.
