Love this game! You 100% need to play with friends, it's so much fun as well as being creepy. If you have a VR headset and are feeling brave... use it for this It's a little odd to control at first, but once you're used to it... it's great. You might want to play from the bathroom though... just saying.

If you don't go for this, you'll likely find some rather entertaining videos on YouTube of people totally freaking out playing

I have posted this before, so figured I'd copy this over to give you an idea of what to expect
"The idea is to identify the type of ghost you're dealing with and leave with as many of your team as possible. You'll get a brief in your van, with the ghosts name and a bit of a back story. Load up on the items you need (You can come back to swap things out), then head in to identify the spirit.

You can speak to the ghost using certain phrases, which was pretty good from when I last played. Set up cameras and view from the comfort of your van, use UV torches to find fingerprints and lots of other fun stuff. You use what you find to identify what you're dealing with. There's a book with descriptions of various ghosts that you can cross check. Each time you find a clue, you just pop it into your book then it will narrow down which ghost it can be. Usually there's a couple by the time you're done, so read and make sure you make the right selection, based on what you've seen and heard.

Once you think you know which type it is, head to your van, make your choice and get the heck outta there. If you're right you'll get more points (Obviously) Those that died can spectate as a ghost.

Playing on your own is okay, but it's really quite difficult a lot of the time, so 100% see if your friends fancy it too. I've got 44 hours in play time, but only stopped playing because other stuff released at the time.

If you want to try it with VR, compatible headsets are: Valve Index / HTC Vive / Oculus Rift / Windows Mixed Reality - It should work fine via the PICO 4 too, using PCVR.

Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror where you and your team members of paranormal investigators will enter haunted locations filled with paranormal activity and gather as much evidence of the paranormal as you can. You will use your ghost hunting equipment to search for and record evidence of whatever ghost is haunting the location to sell onto a ghost removal team.

You can choose to support your team by monitoring the location with CCTV cameras and motion sensors from the safety of the truck or head inside and get your hands dirty with the ghostly activity that will get increasingly hostile as time goes on.

  • Immersive Experience: Realistic graphics and sounds as well as having minimal user interfaces will ensure a totally immersive experience that will keep you on your toes.
  • Cross platform: Phasmophobia supports all players whether they have VR or not so can enjoy the game with your VR and non VR friends.
  • Co-op multiplayer: Play alongside your friends with up to 4 players in this co-op horror where teamwork is key to your success.
  • Unique Ghosts: Over 10 different types of Ghosts all with unique traits meaning each investigation will be different.
  • Investigate: Use well known ghost hunting equipment such as EMF Readers, Spirit Boxes, Thermometers and Night Vision Cameras to find clues and gather as much paranormal evidence as you can.
  • Full Voice Recognition: The Ghosts are listening! Use your actual voice to interact with the Ghosts through Ouija Boards and EVP Sessions using a Spirit Box.

I really want to play this! I'm normally a console gamer but do play the original Tomb Raiders and Euro Truck Simulator 2 on the pc. Will I be ok as a newbie?

There is a tutorial to get a grasp of the game. There are different difficulty settings you can choose; higher the difficulty, harder the ghost, bigger the rewards (payouts for equipment and experience). It's newb friendly, especially if you have friends to join. Just avoid the big maps like Prison, High School and Sunny Meadows if you're new.

Heard lots of good things about this, but never got around to buying it, might do at this price though. Thanks, heat added

A super addictive game that works better with friends. I have played it a ridiculous amount of hours (I have been playing it almost since release day) and we still play it from time to time. Very easy to learn, and very hard to master.

~130 hrs in, can't imagine not playing it in coop though, a lot of randomness that aids replayability, overall very good game for the money

Used to be a fantastic game with a great community.
Now they have added so much new content and ghosts with very little difference between.

It is very much a game of quantity rather than quality these days.

Good enough game, though the updates are relatively slow due to the dev team being pretty small.

After a few matches, it loses the scare factor as the character models are absolutely terrible but hopefully it'll get further refined in future.

Worth a shot at this price and you will definitely get your money's worth, especially if you have a group of a few friends to play it with.
