Prime deal. Normally £400-500. I've paid around £400 pre-COVID, it seems to have gone up (air filter is all the hype). I know this will probably be voted stone cold. However, Philips is a quality brand. This is a HEPA Carbon Activated filter.

Spec:
  • High grade integrated filter removes harmful ultrafine particles as small as 0.003um, 800 times smaller than PM2.5
  • Remove 99. 97% of airborne ultrafine particles, dust, allergens, gases, bacteria and viruses
  • Intelligent purification – its professional grade air quality sensor automatically monitors, reacts & purifiers air so you don’t have to lift a finger. Night mode and automatic ambient light control ensures it doesn’t disrupt whilst you sleep. Quiet mark certified
  • 360-degree airflow circulation enables fast and efficient purification in large spaces up to 104m2 - Purify the air in a room of 20m2 in less than 8 minutes
  • Control and monitor the 3000i from anywhere using your air matters app. Use with Alexa for voice control

Notes from owning it since 2020:
  • For me the choice between this, and the cheaper ones: was the longer lasting filter (rated at 3Y, mine lasted over 2Y before grabbing a £50 replacement off Amaz warehouse which was still sealed), which means a good total cost of ownership. With other brands, you'd often have to do the filter change every 6M to 1 Year.
  • Personally trust the philips brand over some of the other digital brands.
  • The mobile app - to be honest I've installed it once but given it up. Smart if you can connect/schedule, but for me it's enough just to switch between sleep, auto or turbo.
  • Philips site rates the power usage upto 55W. I'm assuming the around 10 is sleep mode. So in reality probably 35W ish on auto (reasonably clean) or approx 55W on full blast. It tends to settle itself down after clearing a space. It's not a subsitute to hover btw: philips.co.uk/c-p…ier
  • Turbo mode can be noisy. Helps a bit when pollen count is high or when someone decided to have the pot noddle. Normally I switch it on turbo for a bit and get out of the room, come back, nice.
  • Probably best for small office / larger space; the carbon filter, helps to suppress odd smell too e.g. if someone opens a pot noddles; or when you've got air-con, and someone opens a pot noddles, but you don't want to open the window due to the lost cooling. I love the actual pot noodles & its smell, just using the pot noodles term loosely to refer to the interesting smell that not everyone might be a fan of.
  • Other unrelated notes: as mentioned I've had it since 2020. It's by no means a new model, but it's a trusted/quite robust model, with a robust supply of filters. Philips does have an "newer" 4000i model in the EU that looks exactly the the same, but seems like an overclocked version lol (4000i has 10% higher max power drain at 60W vs 55w; slightly heavier, slightly louder noise floor & ceiling; yes, it does have a higher CADR rating of 610 m³/hr, which is 17% higher and supports a bigger room size of 158m2 / NRCC rating vs 135 on the 3000i); that said the testing, etc are mostly based on same largely same footnote info on the product info on Philips' site - makes me think they're very similar product, one's just ... a bit overclocked lol. That 4000 model (philips.co.uk/c-p…oms) - I think is region / distribution specific to EU/other countries for now. That means the 3000i among the 7000i (philips' dyson clone that's less powerful than this) are still the UK flagship.

I've given up on the app - I think partly because the touch on it is very simple & partly because the app left something to be desired.

The filter, meant to hoover it periodically to remove dust. Think got lucky on the filter replacement - if you assume £85 filter cost (new) and 2Y lifecycle (depends on how dusty, mine's not really dusty at all), then that's approx £42.5 or so a year excluding electricity.
