Word of Caution to buying the Playstation VR2 -- Reasons why :

They only sold 2 Million, and have halted production..
Several studios have been closed by Sony that were creating new games for Playstation VR2
Possibly over 900 Employee's laid off

With other studio's also closing, or laying off more employee's.. This could mean more of an impact to Playstation VR2 Games coming soon. Delays or cancellations. I would personally recommend a Quest 2 or Quest 3 with the massive library of games, wireless, and community support.

Last thing to give notes on his Sony in general. I believe the Playstation VR2 was a gamble for Sony and it hasn't paid off.. So they could eventually scrap and provide PC support.

A shame Sony have all but abandoned it already. The Quest 3 is a much better deal and a well supported platform imo.

Isn't there a way now to get this to work with PC or am I remembering wrongly?

I wouldn't recommend buying a headset that Sony have abandoned and won't be getting any more exclusives when Quest 3 has exclusive games launching regulalrly, i sent mine back as apart from the OLED screen it was inferior to Quest 3 in most ways, especially with the tiny sweet spot and poor tracking.

Unfortunately I mostly agree (aside from the tracking, I've had no issues with that and the sense controllers are excellent); if you absolutely must play the fairly limited number of exclusives it has then it's a great piece of hardware, and there is and will continue to be a decent library of third-party games for it, but it's become quite clear over the past several months that Sony have nothing lined up for it aside from PC compatibility.

It was the right VR headset for me to buy at the time and the future for it did seem bright so I don't regret that decision, but if I was choosing one now I'd get a Quest 3.

This must be because of the official price drop coming soon apparently

Nice, needs to be around £200-£300 before I think about it unfortunately.

Great bit of kit. Me, my wife and my kids all love it. Plan to grab another once the PS5 Pro is released
  9. VelocityEvo's avatar
I would keep waiting, I think they'll drop more at this rate.
  10. Puddlehopper's avatar
Paid full price at launch and although there's a lot of indie games and dodgy quest ports, I am still more than happy to continue playing gt7,res evil village& remake 4.
  11. Jimmy.T's avatar
I struggle with this. It's disgraceful how Sony have treated PSVR2. They've created a fantastic peice of kit which should be selling like hot cakes, but is completely forgotten in comparison to Quest 3. It deserved at least two or three AAA titles devoted strictly to it. Something like a God of War or Spider-man 2 or even a Deathloop. Anyone convincing themselves into thinking this is being well supported is deluded. It's a crying shame. This (even at this price) should be a hot deal. As it is, it's just a very expensive hat.

Gamertag VR just released his personal top 20 psvr2 games

Vr2 has some pretty top games for its first year id say (edited)

Good price for the bundle. RE Village, GT 7. Rezoo and Red Matter 2 are my favourite games so far. Not played any online games yet. Also great to watch films or play normal games on a 'big screen' via VR

I was so looking forward to psvr2 glad I waited not even gonna bother getting one, still more than happy with quest 2
    frish's avatar
Same. The fact that I don't already have a ps5 and it wasn't PC compatible at the time saved me, but I was really tempted to go ahead and get both.

    Gimmick. Like the last one

I still think the graphics aren't great on VR2. Very pixelated. Was hoping for something much better than the first one.

    Congratulations on your 1st deal
  18. DazLFC's avatar
So unfortunate, this has gone the same way as psvr. It will be sub 300 soon
  19. paulae1's avatar
It's great, but it doesn't have as much support as I'd hoped for. If you're happy with the games that are out, some of which are amazing, it may be worth it.
  20. BrianButterfield's avatar
Did they ever release PC drivers?
    CMSeddon's avatar
Think they just announced they were going to but haven't heard anything since

Seen as the psvr1 is like £20 in cex now its kinda put me off ever getting a PlayStation vr headset..just gunna stick to my q3 and keep saving for the Apple headset.
    BrianButterfield's avatar
The Apple headset will never be good, abort that unless you see it mega cheap.

I’ve had mine a while now and it’s sat in the box for most that time. GT is amazing, I’ll replay RE on it sometime but played it through so many times already without vr. Golf is fun but loses its novelty pretty quick. Disappointed really, maybe I’ve missed out on some really good games for it. Gutted they didn’t bring superhot to it.
    TheVoice's avatar
Red Matter 1 and 2 are both excellent, I'm also playing Hubris at the moment and it's pretty decent too.
  23. Darren_S's avatar
I'm a long time Sony supporter, had the psvr1 forgave it for its cable and low graphics for the overall experience, I was in two minds about purchasing a psvr2 glad I didn't and got a quest 3 instead - my god what a jump from the psvr1, from the ui to the game experiences ,from wander Google street view, to many many games you could imagine .
Being wireless is fantastic 2+ HR battery life which is enough to be honest.
Sony for so long has been a strange company no game reviews in the store so you can't figure out what others are saying about a particular game your eyeing up.
There's no communication or feedback with Sony, in what I mean is that Mark Cerny guy jumps out of his cave once every decade to tell you how good the next generation is going to be and then runs back into it never to be seen again until the next one .
There should be a quarterly q&a with customers to voice any concerns or questions regarding games and such like
Anyway that's my 2 pence worth (edited)

It'll be freebie inside a box of Frosties soon
