Would you trust these to have the required UV protection, because if they don't then you could damage your eyesight, cataracts etc. (edited)

I bought plenty cheap sunglasses from ali and all of them had a uv filter ( from medium to high). Its super easy to check btw.- get a uv torchlight for a quid, shine through the glasses on some id card and check if the id uv marks light up.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't be buying sunglasses from Aliexpress and expect them to protect my eyes.

I've bought many pairs of great prescription sunglasses (and glasses) from Ali for about a fifth of the UK price. People in China (or anywhere else in the world) need glasses and sunglasses too, they don't accept poor standards when it comes to eye health. Making polarised/mirrored/UVA etc sunglasses is cheap, the western companies have been ripping us off for ever.

i ordered something from ali express and it arrived not fit for purpose, im currently still fighting for a refund, they offered $3 when the item cost £18...never would i buy from them again, stay away, their products are cheap for a reason !

I doubt you bought direct from Aliexpress, the issue will be with the "store" you bought from.

I'd like to think that most people know that when they buy direct from China, there's pretty much no comeback with regards customer service. It's frustrating but is par for the course.

I've bought plenty of sunglasses from Ali express, even paid £30 for one pair and they have all been crap.

The materials and build quality is very poor and the hinges are misaligned, plastics are low grade and break easily, the lens are distorted, discolour, delaminate. They won't last a month.

I've come to realise that quality sunglasses from a reputable brand are definitely worth the price.

I buy ones like these from Primark for £2 . By the time this turns up from China, summer may be gone .

I’ve bought several pairs from recommended sellers on Ali. Some of these are still going strong and great condition after years. I had another pair delivered yesterday as I smashed the glass on my originals dropping them. My new ones are great quality, polarised and I’m super happy with them

Ive bought fake oakleys and 100% cycling glasses, maybe 4 pairs three good one pair not so good. My son has the 100% and the only way to tell the difference was the logo was slightly misaligned on the case. Ive been wearing them several times a week for upto 5 hours for 10 years and my vision is fine.

UV damage is cumulative - it's not a coincidence that the first question they ask you when they think you have a melanoma is "did you ever spend time in the tropics?". It's mental to buy fake sunglasses without getting them tested for UV protection.

Might as well buy them from that guy on the beach..

Anyone know how long it will take to get delivered? Will they arrive in time for summer lol
    ChloesMummy237's avatar
Depends on the seller. Sometimes if you spend over a certain amount you get 15 day delivery

on this topic - can anyone recommend a place to buy proper polarized sunglasses that do not cost like £200+ ?
    naski666's avatar
I've a set of O'Neil's that cost around £20 (in fact there's a deal kicking around for some right now if you search) which are my , leave in the car and drive in glasses. They're really good for that purpose.

Edit: Link to the O'Neil deal.

Please don't buy generic sunglasses from ali express. If you do, make sure you get them tested in an opticians for UV protection.

Sunglasses 👓 get broken very fast for me so I cannot afford to buy expensive ones .

I think the dude at the end of jeepers creepers wore these, for one sunny day

Cost me £7.20 in gorilla clear epoxy to “potentially” repair my Oakley metal frames I sat on.
I don’t know how they make, transport and profit from selling things at this price. All hail our Chinese overlords.
