Pop ups are great, easily folded, but this one looks like single skin, so not recommended. Similar tents can be bought cheaply on Ebay. (edited)

You know what, people are rejecting this tent based on single skin and pop up disasters, but I would happily take this camping with the family. They can have the ‘proper’ tent and argue all they like, then I can nash off somewhere else with this and regain my sanity!

Have fun praying to the British weather gods.

This is a 'let's camp in the backyard and only go inside for the toilet and ohno it's drizzling let's stay in the house after all' tent

Im glad people call it out because anyone without the necessary camping knowledge may end up buying this for an actual camping situation and have a terrible time. (edited)

1000mm hydrostatic head & single skin makes this a rather wet nights camping!

Single skin tents tend to be cr*p in conditions where it's wet or there is a lot of condensation.

Probably fine for camping in warm dry sunny weather.
However, these days most of the good camp sites fill up, so it's necessary to book in advance.
Which means you can't be sure the weather is good when booking.
So a good double skin tent is needed.

I have been using a Khyam Igloo for over 20 years. That keeps me dry even if it rains all night. And it goes up really quickly.

Far more expensive than the pop up, but a cheap tent that cannot keep the rain out is of zero value to me.

If they Khyam is too expensive, get a cheap double skin tent and invest the time to put the thing up.

The one case where a pop up might be useful is if you own it as a second tent.
When you get to Friday, if the weather forecast is virtually guaranteeing warm sunny weather, pack the pop up for the weekend.
If it might rain, pack your good tent.

these proaction tents are ony suitable as a shelter on the beach from the wind, they are ok to use as a changing room, but no way would i be sleeping in one as an umbrella is more waterproof!

Got an air tent so my wife can put it up on her own. Wish we'd just bought the biggest damn pop up instead. Air tents are huuuuge packed down.
hey, whatever - as long as everyone is enjoying camping this year we're all winning. Let the season begin!

Big pop ups are difficult to fold.

"pop up" and "camping" should never be used together.

I had a cheap Tesco one for my daughter when she was really young. Used to take ages to try and figure out how to get it back in the bag. Always had to go on YouTube and look for a video to get it back in the bag.

Please don't bad mouth these too much. Watching aghast people crawling out of these is one of my favourite pastimes when I go camping

Might get one as a beach tent for the summer. Wouldn’t be using it for camping though
