Just one more job, just one more big score, that’s how it always begins… but you’ll never expect where Red Dead Redemption 2 takes the story from there.
The massive open world of RDR2 is filled with quests, characters, animals, weapons, and secrets that will remain hidden even after hundreds of hours of gameplay.
As Arthur Morgan, member of the Van der Linde gang (and now a fugitive), your only choice is to flee to survive in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will take you on a journey deep into the heartland of America. It’s up to you to decide how much of your old life gets left by the wayside, and how this journey will finally end.

America, 1899. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are outlaws on the run. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

Red Dead Redemption 2 also includes the shared living world of Red Dead Online – forge your own path as you battle lawmen, outlaw gangs and ferocious wild animals to build a life on the American frontier. Build a camp, ride solo or form a posse and explore everything from the snowy mountains in the North to the swamps of the South, from remote outposts to busy farms and bustling towns. Chase down bounties, hunt, fish and trade, search for exotic treasures, run your own underground Moonshine distillery, or become a Naturalist to learn the secrets of the animal kingdom and much more in a world of astounding depth and detail.

JRSC01 says: This game is absolutely fantastic to play, if you haven't already been aware of what it is, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? A very large open world game set in America, during the wild west years, and using real facial scans of the voice actors, you are immersed into a large open world exploration covering various terrain and animals, nature and encounters in the real game world, you travel on horseback, wagon, steam trains, and can undertake missions from collecting nature, cigarette cards, herbs, flowers, and much much more, this is not a quick game to play, and prepare to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours in its gameplay and online play also.
I cannot say enough except its a brilliant game and very emotional to play, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing too,

Be prepared to put a lot of time into this - it is definitely worth the gameplay!

Do all PC copies require the rockstar launcher? Even if bought through steam etc?

    yes

Bare in mind guys, this game crashes to desktop for a lot of people, and has been this way for years, R* have all but abandoned this game, so a fix will probably never happen, it's a lottery if it works for you or not, there's an extensive reddit post on the subject, with no fix, and of course with CDKeys there is no refund.

Buy on steam, try it out for 2hours, refund.
    Jackpot!

This'll soon be 7.99, once the RDR1 remaster is unveiled.

I'm playing again for the umpteenth time. One of the greatest games of time.
Don't forget to mod the game. You'll find everything at nexus mods.

I have this question too - does ultimate add anything that’s worth it?

how would I play this on steam deck?

By installing it as a non-Steam game and then with a launch command that forces it in Vulkan mode. I have it and it runs fairly well.

Ye is it worth buying this on steam instead for £19.79 to play on the steam deck? Does anyone know?
    Mattyblob's avatar
I would say the answer is rather obvious if you want to play it on the steam deck

I really wish keystores didn't only sell the Rockstar keys and instead helped push Steam prices down.

Silly question, *should* one play the first one before this? I'm a bit of a completest, but 1 was never released on pc and I don't have an xbox or ps3. Thoughts?
    Chives's avatar
This is a prequel to the first one, the events of this game happen before the events of RDR1. So, you'll be fine to play them reversed.
