With my usage I do a lot of writes to the card but speed isn't my first concern. I'd prefer to have a few cards fail than the phones internal storage, so a cheap cards great for me.
Depends what you're using it for - if it's going in a phone/tablet to be formatted as internal storage and used for installing apps then I would go with an A1 rated U1 card over a U3 card (unless I see some good random read benchmarks for the U3 card). If it's for storing/playing back media then yes, U3 over U1. Basically 'U' measures sequential read speed, which is important when it comes to reading a video file from beginning to end, and 'A' measures random read speed, which is more important when it comes to running apps.
Didn't bother with the dongle and didn't want to wait, ordered the OS and been using the jig method.
You got yours yet ;) Mine are incoming personally gonna wait for Samsung U3 to drop again.
