I bought the newer version of this on Amazon yesterday for £12.79. Thanks for the tip (highfive)

Ordered thank you

Yeah, I'm a fan of Toshiba micro sd cards over sandisk ones, you never know what you're getting with sandisk ones because there's so many fakes around

Surely this Toshiba U3 class is better - and its also cheaper at just £12.99 >> https://www.base.com/buy/product/toshiba-64-gb-exceria-m302-micro-sdxc-card-u3-class-10-with-adapter-thn-m302r0640ea/dgc-thn~2Dm302r0640ea.htm

Great price for this card

Good price, but these struggle (sometimes) at 30fps 4k or above, perfect for all devices, not managed to get over 70mb/s write speed on one yet, so if you want higher fps 4k+ speeds, look for the slightly later UHS-ll cards, also UHS-lll 500mb/s write will be along soon! (y)

Good find OP

Yes, raw write speed. See my comment after clicking on my link. It's not for everyone, but very demanding cameras need the extra speed and don't like standard u3 (despite being 4k capable). My camera Sony fdr-x1000v will not utilise the 100mbps bit rate with the Samsung. I own a few of the Samsung, and there fine for most things but only the extreme pro cards have the speeds required for the Sony. Other 4k cameras may not suffer this, but the Sony does. Benchmarks: https://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/reviews/micro-sd-cards/

Is there much point/benefit to that card vs the Samsung Evo U3 A1 available from MyMemory for £24.99?

It'll work. Most important thing with DashCams is......many of them only take up to 32GB cards or will encounter errors periodically if you try larger capacity cards (I used 64GB cards in my G1W DashCam and when reviewed it would fairly frequently stop recording mid-journey....when I went back to 32GB cards and it's not happened again. Given the cost of the sandisk high endurance video monitoring cards, I'd sooner by a cheap one and in 2 years when it fails, get another. By then it will be even cheaper.

(lol) That's one aspect that I need to contend with perhaps?, hahahahahahahahaha. :p BUT, in my own defense, that's also an aspect that often left out of the equation too?. (embarrassed) so there!. :{ Hehehehehe. :p but fair play to that though, lol. ;-) As long as it's there, then that's cool. :-D Has anybody else managed to pick one of these up for the same price? (but in London though?). :-)

It's written in my blurb, Baguley tesco, no specsavers local tho, :o

OP .. it would help if you mentioned as to the exact TESCO's Store you got it from though? (area, location, etc?), thanx.

Thank you, I wasn’t aware they sold on eBay too. Sadly I’ve ordered mine, but that is a steal at that price.

There's a 15% off eBay promotion today only until 8pm. If you buy from mymemory-uk on eBay instead (and use the promo code) you should pay £23.79.

So far I've just been confirming that it works in a PC (via Kingston USB 3.0 card reader). It does, but as I mentioned the read & write speeds are significantly lower than the advertised spec. If anyone else gets one of these, could you post read/write speed figures? E.g. use CrystalDiskMark or H2testw

I didn’t think to check for cash back through MyMemory. I’ve ordered mine now so hopefully there’s no issues in my GoPro. What have you used yours in and any issues there?

You can go via TopCashback to MyMemory's site directly (not Amazon) for possible 4% cashback. I bought one of these a few days ago from MyMemory on eBay (when there was a 15% off eBay promotion). It arrived the other day, and I'm not really impressed so far. Testing in two different USB 3.0 readers, both read and write speed seems to be limited to ~68MB/sec, not the claimed 100/90.

Doubt this would be real for the price. Roughly £5 more would get you one from a more reputable retailer when on offer.

45 days del. where the frig does it come from mars

No, definitely not genuine, I don't know how they still have permission to sell fake stuff... I bought from Zapalas in bulk headsets claiming they are genuine AKG the one which you get in every packaging with Samsung S8 whoever have one they know, and the moral of the story they where cr@p quality they don't even have plastic, it's more fake than a fake Chinese plastic, it's just painful and werid keeping in hands looks will fall over a part, sound quality way distant from the original one, I buy a lot on line, and zapalas is the new way of making money for who is selling counterfeit stuff, and you will find only that... Just stay away

They don't, they aren't genuine, stay away from zapalas

Are these good for gopros?

Hahahahahahahaha, I'm loving your use of light banter and humour there, loooool. :-D Keep it up. :-)

i'm exactly the same and voted hot, my Transcends have all transcended my Sandisk SD cards.

Good to hear a different comparitive balance of sorts (on pretty much the same previously above mentioned as well). :-) Balance is always a good thing. :-D That aside, you'll never get a Samsung coming up at around the price I've previously quoted above from before ... As already mentioned above there, there's often at least a £3 price (increase) difference between them?. Allllll Memory Card's (including my above stated Deal), have had a tendency both in the past + of late too, to fluctuate allllllll over the place?!. The real 'key' here, is catching them at the right/appropriate time, or whatever?, that's all ... I've seen Transcend 128GB Memory Card's going for upwards of £30+. I've seen SanDisk 128GB Memory Card's going for upwards of £35+. And I've also seen Samsung 128GB Memory Card's going for upwards of £40.+. It's alllllll about that catching it at the right time thing I mentioned before?. (As well as a gooooood sprinkling of 'balance' too I reckon?). Transcend, SanDisk, and Samsung are all very good Memory Card Manufacturers without a doubt. :-) So go with whichever brand you feel most comfortable with? (one day to the next ... )

I was interested in this over the SanDisk because never had a SanDisk last more than 6 months and never had a problem with Transcend so thanks for posting. Having said that I'll wait for the samsung to reach this price since its been brought up in this post.

Fair enough, hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Well, maybe the Card Reader's you're using are dodgy/defective themselves perhaps? (who knows?). But yeh, use your Phone where necessary to do your 'whatevers' in the meantime ...

Yeah cant format it cant do anything with it with 2 diff card readers, but on my mobile it works, weird, cheers, will try to format it on my phone

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, look's to me like you've got a currupted external 'Device' perhaps?. Software may/may not be able to 'sort it' ... Either try one of those dedicated Media Formatting Tool's (which can readily be downloaded off of the Internet by the bucket load for FREE!). OR, send it back to 'source' for either an exchange, or a refund, etc?. The choice is now yours ...

yes, went to admin tools, pc could see it but said it was unavailable, couldnt assign a letter to it or format it

How many people use their action cameras as dashcams? Or are you alleging SanDisk Ultra cards shouldn't be used for any video recording? I have had a 32GB Ultra in a dashcam for six months, I'll let you know if it fails.

Did you not read any of my above aforementioned then?. Dash Cam/Action Cam, etc, etc (eg. "ANY Dash Cam type of Device "), are alllllllll 'continuous write' Device's remember?. And 'normal' Memory Card's are not by default designed with 'continuous write' in mind simply put - I did sort of indirectly mention such before too ... Other than High Endurance Card's (and/or Samsung Evo Plus Card's), there's literally no guarantees again (ever), with anything else basically?. Beyond that, etc, it's literally up to you ... Trail and error 'moments' as it were? (but arguably/possibly more error, than trail, perhaps? - either way I can't comment on such either way, as I've never used any of the numberous 'normal' Memory Card's I've bought over the Year's for anything other than that of what it was originally intended for, eg. Phone's, Tablet's, TV Boxes, Digi Cam's, and one of those fancy Laptop type thingy's that have only 32GB of SSD storage on board ... ) Beyond my aforementioned above, I rarely use them nowt all else (well, not for 'continuous write' Device's anyway?). :-) But as I mentioned before, using the 'normal' Memory Card's for thing's other than originally intended, is literally like a lottery/luck of the draw moment sort of moment. (None of which, obviously, I could force you on taking on board either way? - just advice only ... ) :-D

First of all why? Second, his Yi cameras might be action cameras, not dashcams.

7DayShop has a very long standing reputation as a trustworthy seller. But there is a way to test cards to maker sure they aren't fake. I wrote an article on the subject recently but I'm not allowed to post links to my own site so try googling "guard yourself from fake memory cards".

Great price for this card

Is there anyway to check the authenticity? I've bought a couple of large microsd cards from amazon recently.

I enjoyed this comment

because you massaged the figures to suit your argument the last few 128gb micro sds were all below 25quid, none as fast as this one but even the evo plus has been 25 and regularly at 28 (27.99 right now (or less i only checked one place) so 141% more) it is a good deal but no need to exaggerate it - even at 30 its still 124% more rather than the 100% you suggest

Don't understand why you commented.... Of course it's just above twice the price that you birthday buy for around £30.....

It's not 'twice the price'.

So I tested mine and its 100% real and the full capacity - but that's to be expected as sold from Amazon themselves

expect they dont really have an idea either ;) they shouldn't be saying UHS-1 and UHS-2 its misleading , its UHS-I and UHS-II generally UHS-II cards can still be used in UHS-I devices at the lower UHS-I speeds this is a uhs-ii card https://www.amazon.co.uk/Professional-Performance-microSDXC-UHS-II-Memory/dp/B00U0XG65U so its U3 but uhs-ii

It was a eurogamer article. Here is a quote: 'Of course, capacity is only half of the equation - what about speed? Well, here the Switch isn't quite so future-proof. The console only supports UHS-1 cards, which have a maximum possible speed of 104MB/s, compared to the 312MB/s speed limit of the more modern UHS-2 standard. However, our testing revealed only a tiny differential between the slowest and fastest UHS-1 Micro SD cards on the Switch, so our recommendations are tailored towards capacity and value rather than speed' Again, I have no clue 😜

someone should tell nintendo then! (cheeky)

It said that uhs 3 is incompatible with the switch, I presumed it meant U3. I have no clue. Was a reputable source though. IGN I think it was
