I got this from Samung eBay just less than 3 weeks ago as posted here. Two weeks into its use, the plasticky flimsy door cover has cracked already. It looks like a glass door but a cheap reflective plastic that squeaks every time you open and close the door. Poor quality door and handle! I do not recommend this microwave. It is reduced for a reason! It heats well though but the plasticky flimsy and noisy door let the product down. Not great. I am waiting for Samsung to respond.

Gees, not good. I saw a video which is a similar model, just older.
They mention the door too, plus not able to see inside, although all new ones seem to be headed this way.
2/3 times this has dropped or similar model numbers in past 2 months. Why?

Does anyone have this and recommend it?

Loads of old threads about it. Seems positive reviews apart from very dim light inside when cooking, and eco mode literally just turns the clock off so saves under 10p a year I've ordered it. It's currently £159 in argos

I've had lots of modern Samsung microwaves. All rusted and had rust on delivery on the edges of the metal (all had "ceramic coating") - replaced under warranty and the new replacements had the same out of the box. Every single Samsung microwave I have owned had a manufacturing fault with the door where the flimsy plastic wasn't attached properly in the middle - they all look warped if you look at a certain angle in the light. Samsung even sent me replacements and apologised after seeing the photos and the replacements had the exact same fault out of the box. I've also noticed a serious manufacturer design fault where if you lift the handle gently whilst the door is closed, the microwave switches on... Try it if you own a Samsung microwave - it did this on ALL of my Samsung microwaves (various models) and does it on my current machine aswell. Insane and dangerous fault IMO - it goes straight from the clock showing to the microwave fully on with nothing in it... (edited)

Was the rust inside when opening the door? Mine just arrived today and the edges where the ceramic joins are brown/ looks like rust...

Arrived today, tempted to return. Feels a bit flimsy, one side has a dent, and there is what looks like rust where the edges of the ceramic interior join up!

Had this for exactly two years. Very Dim light. Uneven cooking/Cold spots/Noisy. Failed after first year, repaired under warranty. Failed again just after the warranty period and was binned since Samsung quoted insane repair cost this time. Build quality was questionable at best with creaking plastics. Moved to a Panasonic and couldn't be happier. (edited)

That’s what put me off buying one last week so I ended up sticking with DeLonghi.

If you make a warranty claim, you will need to pay £45 for a technician. To come and inspect. Irrelevant of all circumstances. I bought similar to this. Albeit Combi. £129 at the time . I ended up going to citizens advice.

Is this easy to operate, for some elderly people?
In setting the time to 1 min etc then pushing start?

Is this refurb or new, seems to be new
    ajfc27's avatar
You hit start and the cooking increments go up by 30 seconds or hit start and turn the dial for the time to go up in 10 second increments. Really easy for anyone old or handicapped

Anyone know what warranty you get with this?

    Two years

I have this one. Very good price . Unfortunately my experience was poor…

Was going to order but the width and depth are not suitable on this 28 litres.

Will have to wait for any offers on the MS23 model.
    Shame that.

We have been using this for the last few years. The only negative is the lack of any light inside when it is running. But easy to clean, does the job well and enough space for our requirements. Zero problems so far.

Just reading this thread. Crazy how varied the experience is for everyone. Some bad, good and Inbetween.
My last microwave Panasonic lasted 19 years.
Hence being cautious now, but deep down know anything made now barely gets to 5 years beit washing machine, microwave etc.

Massively varied. Kinda regretting the purchase now. It arrives in an hour, so hopefully it'll be ok. It's a downside of any deal that MrSwitch posts, it automatically gets loads of heat as he's well liked and people assume it's a good deal and just hit heat.

I have this microwave. Well the black 800w version that looks nearly the same. I'd recommend it overall. It's made in Malaysia not China so that's a pretty big plus. (edited)
    TheDobbus's avatar
This is an 800w model isn't it? eBay listing is rubbish, but Argos have it and it says 800w there

I thought microwaves were immortal! I've had my Sharp microwave for about 23 years and it's still going strong. My in-laws had theirs over 30 years and it was still working when they replaced it after a kitchen remodel
    JD_'s avatar
Things back in the day were, not now.
You'll be lucky to get 5 years on most things
