Rip off price for only 512gb. Better off buying alternative 4tb external drives

Can’t play Xbox series x optimised games on an external.

Been seeing the same comment repeatedly for a couple of years. It's a bit like the wait for a decent exclusive. (edited)

Can buy a 2tb for ps5 for cheaper than this

Thanks - will be migrating to Sony at some stage, so this is good to know.
Only had an xbox for halo and forza, halo is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiii te and anything 'exclusive' for xbox is (imo) pants.
Just a shame I can't use xbox controller on Sony(?)

Still grateful Microsoft sent me my 1TB on launch day; then refunded me for no reason three days after Christmas

It was probably out of guilt because they knew how badly they were ripping you off

I bought the 512GB last October for the same price as I couldn't afford the 1TB to be honest I regret it and wish I'd waited as you can fit so little on it. I mean this is from my perspective alone so for some people this will be fine and ill give some heat for the price (edited)

i got series s and yea the internal storage fills pretty quick esp modern games take up lots of space, i don't wanna pay these prices tho so just bought a 128gb mem stick for a fiver that was recently on hot deals, i store and play older games from there and use the main xbox storage to play X/S games. I played Shadow of TR from the usb drive which was x/s enhanced version i transferred from the console as a test and it still worked fine??? (edited)

A while back I got slated for saying the Series S was a joke of a machine because of such little storage. I'm curious - what's the verdict atm? (edited)
