Always found this a bit of a weird watch.

Black case and steel crown, helium escape valve and bezel just look cheap to me, like someone has merged the black ceramic and steel models together using bits from a parts bin.

I would guess most shops would give this level of discount for this model. Watchesworld.com who I have used on several occasions have this listed for £6,136

7k for a watch with a fabric strap. (edited)

No date window is deal breaker

If you need to check the date on a diver watch you have been down there too long

Heat from me. But then I do like a quality watch thread, if only for the entertainment value . (edited)

Self confessed Omega fan but even I think the RRP’S are getting ridiculous, although on the plus side the resale value of my watches is going up.

Always worth a chuckle keeping an eye on a watch deal when its over a couple of £100 when the sundial brigade come out.

I’m an Omega fan and have a PO, but I feel this one is about 3k too expensive!

Pity that it does not come with a metal strap

They sell nice replacement ones on AliExpress.

Prefer the standard one on a metal strap with a date window for £1600+ less

I don't care about watches but I find watch culture quite interesting. Thanks for posting!

If had 7K handy, I'd get the IWC Pilot 41mm Chronograph over this.

Can usually get a 20% discount on Omega if you go into an AD and say you are going to buy it today...
    dave_yes's avatar
That was true a few years ago, but I don't think it is any more. Or at least not for the models I was looking at (Moonwatch, and 300m SMP). And I was very clear that I was going to buy today.

Although I went into an Omega boutique recently and mentioned the crazy sale at Leonard Dews. The guy very nearly price-matched a speedmaster racing with a 40% discount until I pointed out that Leonard Dews were out of stock. He was also happy to price match a US AD that was £2k cheaper until I pointed out the import VAT would account for the difference. (Not sure why I did it really, I'd have loved that speedmaster with a 40% discount!). The point being - I happened to mention the sale and the speedmaster in passing and had no intention of buying it and he was going out of his way to find an excuse to discount it; whereas I've been into half a dozen ADs on the same day asking for a discount on a moonwatch which I did intend to actually buy, and got nowhere.

Anyway- I am going back to the boutique from now on where the guy appears willing to bend the rules on price matching!

There were some great deals on some watches now out of stoch there.
