Great product. Been using one since late last year. Normally switch it to three before I get ready for bed and turn it off when in bed. Has cost hardly anything.

If not feeling well will leave it one setting one all night and maybe turn it off if wake up a bit warm in the night.

Once or twice I forgot to turn it off in the morning and found out when back from work

I used around 11 kwh from November to February Which is less than £4 over four months (edited)

Get yourself a smart plug and use a timer function to turn it off in the morning (just in case).

Never leave a plugged in turned on electric blanket unattended and never go to sleep with an electric blanket turned on . Lady in next village died from electric blanket fire few years ago and elderly neighbour whose kids had replaced 40 year old blanket with new model (expensive ‘quality’ model as safety conscious family - I didn’t ask what brand )) had horrendous bedroom fire this winter caused by fairly new heated blanket . Thankfully no one hurt .
I now don’t have them in my kids rooms and use ours with extreme caution. Yes risk of scalding from hot water bottles and don’t know risks of microwave ‘hotties ‘ but do wonder if overall safer option ? Interesting to hear Fire Service Staff comments here . Also A&E staff on scald risk of hot water bottles?
Would be much better if everyone could afford to heat their home’s properly. (edited)

Just picked up the King from Lidl for £30 compared to £35.99 with the code here
Such a good purchase and very cheap to run, well recommended !

Does this have to go on your bed or can you put it over you to keep you warm?

Never used an electric blanket ever till recent. Now I cant understand why I didnt. We put it on for a few minutes before bed. Nothing more. Nice warm bed to get into and duvet traps heat well so dont need to turn it on again. Very economical. Got the lad a heated throw. In constant use he tells me and cheap to run. Electric blankets are well worth it with spiralling energy costs in mind.

Great thank you! I applied the code at the checkout for the double and it took £7 off free delivery and seller has fantastic feedback

How do you define fantastic feedback? It's an interesting concept. On percentages, almost 2% of customers were unsatisfied over the year. I wonder on a business model like Ebay and as a power seller what percentage is classified as 'good or 'excellent' I'm sure someone knows this

Bought a double from Asda back in December, love it. Have it on the middle setting for 30 mins before bed, controlled by a smart plug.
If I was buying again I would get the king size for our double bed.

Same. Getting into a warm bed, what a feeling!

You can also get a king size blanket in Lidl (if they still got in stock at your local store) for £29.99 or even for £24.99 if you got the £5 coupon.

I checked last weekend in my local store and they still have plenty in stock.

Ordered the king! Decent value, we have the double and it's been outstanding (unlike our Dreamland throw) if just a little slow to heat up.

I bought this in December and it’s already stopped working, I don’t even use it often as it’s on a spare bed. Hopefully silentnight customer service will come through for me.

Can anyone tell me if they used both between this vs the throw blanket?
    motionwerk's avatar
I have used them both. What would you like to know?
  13. meandog101's avatar
Had ours for almost a year, costs pennies to run. Plugging them in via a smartplug and getting Alexa to turn it on about 10-15 mins before you go to bed is worth it.

The blankets that come with a zip washable outer cover are the better models imo. Got a slumberdown comfy cosy nights single from Argos way back in nov ish when they were £25 and have since watched tge price increase over the winter to £35 and just looked again now and there £45. seens like there is price gouching going on as many people switch off the gas for heating altogether like myself this winter. since getting the bkanket which works perfect my gas/ekecteic bill has gone down to £20 a month but obviously that bill is subsidized with £66 from gov. I always wear a tshirt to bed now as the thing with electric blankets is sweat. Your damage the blanket if it isn't protected by sweat. (edited)

Thanks Random1234, these were going for silly prices before Christmas.

    Good time to buy.

Had my king size one for about two years now. Still works great. Makes my bed so nice and toasty. Make sure to switch it on about 30 mins before bed.
