    My brother bought this few days ago and returned the following day for refund.
    He said it was way too loud to use in a house, you wouldn't get much sleep if left it running at night. Would probably be OK for an office. Plus it had limited settings, was pretty much just circulating the air inside the house and my brother did not feel it getting any cooler or anything.

    None of these portable are quiet , the way I look at it is if I can't sleep becuase it's too hot I'd rather have noise and be cool then be roasting and not sleep. My only issues with these cheap units is they not powerful enough , needs to be minimum 13,000btu ideally 14,000 to cover the peak heatwaves (edited)

    7000BTU isnt really enough.
    I have a 10000BTU one, and its just enough to keep my two bedrooms and landing cool.

    I have modified mine for two pipe operation, and i use another fan to push the cold air into the bedrooms.

    It just held the bedroom at 26'C in that 40+ heatwave we had last year, so need a bit more power for that scenario really, but 26 is better than 40
