What I observe is that it takes in practice around 800w when cooling and 100w when fan only.
So when you initially turn it on the cooling function will be going all the time whilst it gets the temperature of your room down to your chosen temperature and at an equilibrium, and after that the cooling function will cycle off and on based upon the heat gains that are impacting the space you are cooling and how well you can isolate the Aircon exhaust from the cooled space. So after the initial cooling the actual power consumption depends how hard the unit has to work to maintain your set point.
I had my unit running on Wed for 4 hours in a large ground floor room 5m X 4m which was at 26C at the start and was cooled to 22C and it consumed 1.8kWh, or around 63p at standard rates.
On Mon it was running for 6 hours in a smaller space 4m X 3m which has higher external heat gain (loft room) and to maintain it at 23C consumed 3.7kWh or around £1.30 at standard rates.
So the amount of power you use is very much influenced by the thermal properties of the space you are trying to cool, gains and losses. The power consumption is higher initially to get the space under temperature control, but assuming it achieves your set point then moderates. Obviously 1C cooler on your set point will have a significant impact on your energy consumption and the amount of work the unit needs to do. (edited)

Despite that, I am not a sweaty mess, so I’ll happily take the noise.
does an ok job, noisy but bearable and makes a difference even if it's never going to hold a living room at 18 when its 40 outside
You can get “window kits” everywhere online for £10-£20. It’s like a white bag with a zipper hole in it that you velcro onto the window to cover the gap. A bit shoddy, but does the job
