Loved mine for a while until I had to buy the.syrups. if you're buying pepsi Max in the first place it's about a 50% saving if not a bit more. I thought there may be deals on regularly where I could stock.up but they are really few and far between. In reality I'm back drinking Lidl pop as it's cheaper

You don't have to use their syrups. I use mine with squash and cordial I buy.

It works for us. We drink litres of sparkling water (not syrups) and is cheaper than the 6 x 500ml packs of water we were using daily from M&S. It costs us about 20p a litre and we are drinking more water than ever now. It is ALWAYS fizzy - not like the 10p 2 litre water that goes flat as soon as you open it. Much less plastic pollution from our household now too.

Plastic waste was our main issue, we used to have trays and trays of Costco sparkling water, this eliminates all of that, so if you care for the planet then this does help in some little way. We have 4 x Aarke machines at various locations and great for instant sparkling water / soda drinks / mixers if in the middle of nowhere, so certainly suits our needs.

These have been around for donkeys years so nothing new, its not as if its a new product, nothing can be said that has not already been said and well known unless you have been living under a rock.

See previous sodastream threads and Aarke threads to see deals on gas bottles and costings.

BEWARE - There are now types of gas bottles blue and PINK, these take PINK bottles which have a different fitting and they do not work in the Aarke range, you do get a choice of what bottles you want on the annual gas plans. (edited)

I’m tempted with this but I’m hesitant when buying a sparkling bottle in a shop works out half the price of a litre this makes :/

Sould it work just as well to stick a syrup of your own into already sparkling water or not?

I use mine with squash and cordial. I don't buy the syrups.

I bought a Sodastream for a good price years ago in a bundle with 2 x 1L bottles, 2 x 500ml bottles and lots of different flavours. I used it at the time then it went to the back of my cupboard.

I've started using it again though. The gas still worked from years ago. Then when it finished, I exchanged the gas cylinder for a new one at my local Sainsbury's two weeks ago, so it cost me £13 instead of £23. You get £10 off if you exchange the old gas cylinder with a new one. Just make sure you get the correct one for your machine as there are now two. Sainsbury's told me people always get the wrong one and don't know until they get home. Once the gas cylinder is opened, you can't get a refund!

£13 for 60L worked out slightly cheaper than what it would cost me to buy 60L of sparkling water. Plus I don't have to carry heavy bottles around and don't have to throw out lots of empty bottles. It's working out well for me now. I use it with squash and cordial I buy. (edited)
