This came with my original A7 way back when, and it's an awful lens. Mine was soft at all apertures, the corners were terrible and there was a small area in the mid left centre that never got in full focus. I wouldn't buy this at any cost for stills, complete waste of the excellent sensor technology in the Sony bodies, part exchanged mine for a used Zeiss 55mm F1.8 and that's a stunner.
My advice, save up and buy the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2. Orthe equivalent Sigma. Unused Tamron, currently on Ebay for £500

That's what I'm saying. Tamron is better value in long run. To be fair it's a cheaper deal then anywhere you'll find but a way overrated lens. Everyone I know sold theirs either for a prime lens or the tamron. Hence my comment that at around £120 it's definitely worth the buy used. Even the tamron v1 is a good buy used for long term. You want some good glass to make most of the sensor (edited)

Excellent deal OP, ignore the haters. Not everyone needs constant aperture and OSS allows the lens to be used wide open where light is challenging.

A £300 kit lens that sells for sub £150 used on ebay and its not even worth that save your money and get a proper lens your camera deserves better

This lens is worth around £180 new at most. Buy it used for around £120. It doesn't hold value unfortunately. 🙏 (edited)

On a less sarcastic note. Why do you say that?

Images arent great in corners and have some distortion but its a cheap (cheap being a relative term in the camera world) lens and will produce more than acceptable images for the vast majority of users.
