sorted byApparently sony warranty does not cover this damage which is clearly caused by manufacturing flaw
There is a post here with regards to some 3rd party repairers and some good info from the poster too. (edited)
Also, if you're mainly using it for your phone, most phones don't have a headphone jack anymore
The 'risks of a wireless reciever' is just nonsense. Light bulbs emit far more radiation than wireless devices, and we've been using smart phones for over a decade now in very close proximity to our bodies. (edited)
