You'll need some chainsaw oil as it doesn't come with any - also, this bottle is very handy when pouring it into the saw.

Too many horrible 1* reviews on that cheaper Screwfix one (both for the machine + against Screwfix for not dealing with faults/bricked machines)

You won't be able to be accurate enough or apply enough force to saw thick branches with this. So basically it's only as good as an extendable lopper - which is what most people buying this actually need.

The guy in the picture is definitely not a noob. The reason his right hand is twice the size of his left hand in the picture is down to hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), also known as vibration white finger (VWF). The white gloves are standard regulation for "the peoples armed police" and it's best you don't ask about his day job.

The Screwfix one is only a year warranty.

Would the chain stay on doing the top of a hedge?

Not really designed for trimming hedges.

You need a hedge trimmer, for example, like this.

I have one of these but in an Aldi rebranded version. Got it for about £30 a few years back when they sell off at half price. Still going strong, saved a fortune and a lot of arm ache managing the trees in the garden.

Does this have the accessories to become a handheld chainsaw also?
