About this deal

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

There were number of cars that have been stolen in our neighbourhood, so I started doing research for the best Steering Lock apart from Faraday Pouch. There is no car security which can give 100% security but all you can do is add layers of security. So saw most of the videos and this one is the toughest steering lock which takes more than 5 minutes to break with a back saw which will no doubt make lot of noise.

The next best price is Amazon for £51.50, Halfords had a 10% discount on I think Monday and it was still £46.5, so not a fan of paying delivery but thought it was worth it as this was the cheapest I could find.

Fits most of the SUVs. Hope my long commentary helps someone! Fitted my Audi Q5 perfectly.

At least then if your car gets taken using the keyless entry function, it’s your fault for not putting your keys away.

I had a go at the manufacturer as I had a car that I never thought would be sought after or stolen, it had a full main dealer service 2 weeks before it went and nobody warned me there were a lot of thefts of them, I only found this out when I rang the manufacturer, so why didn't they warn me at the service, if it was a problem with brakes they would! I am still chasing them as they have supplied a product NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, they know they get hacked and have done nothing about it, mine went in 4 seconds caught on 3 video cameras, police don't give a t*ss, just not interested so you have too look after yourself.

After the theft I had deadlocks fitted on my camper van doors, my car insurance in London went up from £300 on the stolen car to £3,000 on the replacement, trust me insurance companies don't lose out, so I could be uninsurable if the camper van goes, not taking any risks, a couple of hundred quid to deter a thief is better than 5yrs of having to say you have had a car stolen when getting an insurance quote as every insurance company will load you for that even when its not your fault. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE! One day it will be your turn!

Not sure how to unlink them though..Thanks so very much for this..but the video is 11 years old and is much based on ability to open the lock..I have understood from what I have read is that they have advanced this lock a lot and can’t be open without the manufacturer key number which needs to be ordered if lost..I could be completely wrong but that’s what I read..

The keys have been the same for years, the one that was picked is the 'Original' Stoplock, still sold with the circular key you see, the one shown on this deal is the 'Pro' version and uses a different type of single angular cut key, both can be picked but the Pro does take longer.

As has been said all steps you take can be defeated and having something is better than nothing, and more than one thing even better. SO still take all precautions, don't leave anything in your car that you would miss if stolen, heirlooms, wallet, phone e.t.c. because just one day or night it could be stolen, happened to me just before Christmas, car taken in 4 seconds all caught on video and the police farce do not give a t*ss. Just do what you can and what you can afford, all I can say that NEVER leave it too late and ten wish you had, because if your car goes trust me your insurance premiums will rocket whether its your fault for not!

Makes keyless entry a waste of time. ?

Keyless entry should be made illegal! My keyless car was stolen in 4 seconds, if it had a Stoplock on it might not have gone, I only moved the stoplock the week before to my camper van, gutted, anyhow just bought a Disklok, Ok it can be cut off but that takes time and noise and is a deterrent.

If anyone is interested I picked up a deal on ebay, it includes the lock itself, a protector cover for the wheel, a case for it and a large Faraday bag to put your keyless key in to stop it being hacked, if you look at these on Amazon you are getting all the extras for a couple of pounds more than the lock on its own, so a great package, I went for Medium size for a Fiat Ducato van.

Lock alone normally £139, plus you get a bag for it £12.99, steering wheel cover £11.99 and Faraday bag say a fiver

    All for £149.99

USE THIS CODE FOR EXTRA 5% OFF (It's on the ebay page but you may miss it) PRICEFIVE

Change the description to STOPLOCK, that helps people who do a search for one to find it. I have used these for donkeys years and never had a vehicle stolen with one on, but DID have a vehicle stolen in 4 seconds using keyless computer gizmo WITHOUT one on, so anything to deter crooks is worth it, you can never have too much security, these bars are also useful for hitting bugs that get aggressive and approach you in your car / van.

Would probably be better off with a Disklok for ultimate security from a steering lock.

I owned a Vauxhall Nova back in the day and had to remove the hazard light switch on a night time due to people breaking in the car, turning the hazard light switch upside down which turned all your electrics on and you just had to get somebody to push the car to jump start it

I have one of these for my 2015 Mini and I feel that it's a good deterrent. They are more likely to go after another car than go through the effort of trying to remove the lock.
It just gives me that extra piece of mind.

Have a look at these, buy one get one half price at the moment, just need to keep it charged, uses low power so a fused spur to a USB socket from the battery or other fuse box would be fine, £3 month for the tracking eshop.v.vodafone.com/uk/…BwE

It's actually called a STOPLOCK. Make sure you get the right one for your vehicle, this one looks like the big one that will go over steering wheels with a big airbag in the centre but may be a bit loose on smaller cars. A google will ensure you get the right one Ok here you go saxon-brands.com/pro…ock

The Disklok which covers the whole steering wheel is known as one the best and has a Thatcham 3 test certificate, you can see how it gets on in a test here, go straight to 9 min in the video:

I think anything that deters a car thief is worth it. I know they can saw through steering wheels but anything that deters them is worth a punt.
This is the better model. My son had it but lost the keys. I bought another version with a plastic clip mechanism. Didnt fit my new Citroen despite guide saying it did.
Ive got some Tile trackers hidden around the car (map location feature is very accurate if pinged) and a Salind 2 GPS tracker. I know no one steals Citroens lmao but its peace of mind. The Salind is amazing btw.

Not if you put it on correctly so that the locking hoops are either side of a wheel spoke. Still not impossible to remove but requires multiple awkward cuts.

Thank you so much..so fully agree that’s why just bought this..as saw 3 cars stolen on a single day on nextdoor in my neighbourhood..so I thought I should surely do something before it’s too late..the Disklock I agree I saw but can’t remember why I didn’t buy them. May be expensive..but yes will surely try the best that can be done..rest you can only control what you can..many thanks for your advise..

How is this the manufacturers fault? Lots of things get stolen like phones, laptops, TVs, drills, virtually everything valuable worth stealing but they all don't warn you to protect those do they?

It's pretty much common knowledge to protect any car that can be stolen, especially keyless entry cars
