Remember lads - blue switches are heck loud, so it is quite possible your lady is going to hear your "clicks" from the neighbouring room. This is how I had to return my first mechanical keyboard after only 2 days of using it...
Using black switches keyboard now. (edited)

They certainly are. Tactile switches are generally used for typing too, not gaming. Of course everyone has their preference, but a gaming keyboard would usually use linear switches.

What's good about a mechanical keyboard than a normal one? I still beat people online with a normal one lol

They feel more responsive when using them. Membrane keyboards, which you'll probably use if you're not using mechanical, can feel mushy.

This one is cheap for a mechanical, it's better than not having one, but won't be ideal. Really you want one that's 'Hot swappable' so you can change the switches to suit you.

If you're already a good gamer then it won't make you any better, but it will feel better

For budget mechanical I would recommend: Aukey KM-G12, I'm using it now. It looks premium and has the same blue switches as this. Also has a num-pad. Has a small multicolour band around edge you can't turn off but can turn off lights on keys. Between 15-20 on eBay (edited)

Have this and been using it for two years. Reliable but keys are loud!

    Tenkeyless? I suppose that's why they're cheap

I've had this since Jan 2021 used fairly often. It is a cracking keyboard and I reckon you'd spend treble this on the same keyboard but from a big brand

    Is this a soft one?

Nope - blue switches. It's a loud, clicky one.
