how long can you hold sim before activation?
    30 days

One thing I did not realise is that you can only have one new sim every 24 hours, to the same address. This is even if you change the name and the email address. And, only two new sims every month. According to the guy on Chat. Something to bear in mind if you want these for family use.

Thanks for sharing. Really good deal for europe roaming as well.

I got a 20GB sim with Lebara for £5 with code VG3 for 3 months so I can use in mifi. 4GB is hardly any data if ur out and about.

doesn't do wi-fi calling so non-starter for me

Its not supported yet but I have the option on my phone with the TH sim - not tried it yet though

No eSIM for this one, right?

    Not yet, no.

Last time I had this SIM card deal, I had to contact cs and request to delete my card details as it was not possible to do it yourself.
Than had to wait 24 Hours.
Just something to keep in mind. (edited)

This is a bit worrying... Lycamobile you can do it from your phone keys to cancel your subscription. (edited)

Beware. Great EE 4G speeds, and able to tether data from phone. But will not work in a 4G Router Called support, and they clarified this. I thought that Ofcom had made it an illegal practice to not support other devices. Wont be subscribing again!

Terrible company! I was one of those early adopters when it came to this type of "deal" of theirs when they tried pulling that stunt that got them SO MUCH BAD PUBLICITY - changing the terms AFTER you'd paid, to either lock you into a 12 month contract or they kicked you off after a month! Thanks to all the flak they received, they gave up and went back to the original, agreed upon terms bit the damage was done.

So I'm not surprised to see them trying something like what you've described! What did they actually say?

This day and age we can go through 4GB easily in an hour. You can easily use over 4GB just from watching youtube videos in an hour.

Its a good deal if you just want the minutes and texts. But its worth this warning about the data as people don't realize how much these sites chew up GBs.
    fablanta's avatar
Isn't this deal for people who know they aren't going to go over 4GB though? I just came off a 2-year 12GB deal and I never went over 1GB of data.

    Ordered, thanks op.
Perfect, that's what I needed before going to Prague next week.
    mistryv31's avatar
Got Prague booked end of the month so this is perfect too haha

Have the 250 mins and texts and 1gb of data for £15 a year. Renewed automatically with no extra charged. Roaming cheap. SA just 1pMB Barbados 3pMB. They had some problems but I must have got lucky. Seems to all work now. They had trouble with porting but mine ported all okay. For £1.25 a month it’s well worth it. Even got 2000 extra minutes for the year for texting 'save' to get slightly cheaper rates abroad. (edited)

Spook - I was just looking at my Smarty SIM - I'm paying £6/m for 1GB data (UL text & Voice), I do get £1/m back as I don't use data, I guess it's time I switched. I was planning to switch to Lebara, however they are messing me about over the previous 1p deal.

"blistering-fast 5G connectivity in the UK" not the funniest joke I've heard all year. (edited)

I managed to get the 1p 6 month deal, switched and ported my number with no hassle

I think all the initial teething problems have been ironed out now
    Jim1_Smith's avatar
You moved from the 6 month one over to this or do you mean you just started a 6 month deal?
  17. lowercase's avatar
How easy is this to cancel after that 3 months at 1p is up? (edited)
    Pokora's avatar
port out within your 3rd month of contract.
  18. kyl's avatar
but why the heck they give intl minutes to US
    innocent's avatar
Reason is probably very cheap reciprocal arrangement.

O2 allow you to buy a new SIM contract and then transfer your old O2 number to your new O2 SIM. It is the equivalent of "porting" but from O2 to O2.

Does anyone know if TalkHome allow you to do that? My old TalkHome is in its 3rd month, so would be convenient to extend the 1p deal by 6 months if I can retain the number.

Port out to another network your number, then port in it back, unfortunately it's 2-4 days hassle.

Some people are saying that this is a 12 month contract not monthly rolling is that true?

Free roaming is applicable to selected EU countries only - please refer to our roaming rates for details.

5G connectivity is available for both Android & iOS devices (iOS devices with v16.4 update). To experience the speed and reliability of 5G, you will need a 5G ready device and must be in a 5G coverage area.

If you are using 5G and enter an area with only a 4G, 3G, or 2G signal, your phone will automatically swap to that instead. It will switch back to 5G as soon as a 5G signal is available.

Unless they send you a new amended t&c during your contract looks like no.

Hello Sim Nerds - how long can you keep this sim before activation. I will need it around 21 Sept '23. Someone asked this very important question below but no one answered?
  22. Kit-Kat's avatar
It does not say... that is why I asked.

    Does anyone know?

Wanted one for me and the wife, but only allows one per household 😡. Quite annoying. Apart from having it sent to another house anyone know a way around this ?
Sorry just read that someone already posted you can request another in 24 hours, however I get a pop up saying you can only request one a month. Weird. (edited)

Can you port to this from Lyca?
    sdduk's avatar
    yes
  25. Orange_swan's avatar
They still took 1p from my account yesterday, when I've I've ported out 2 weeks ago !!!
    tyke's avatar
As above, you need to cancel with them, not just port out.
  26. tyke's avatar
Ported to them today on the previous 6 months deal with no issues. Data rate more than 8 times faster than Vodafone 4g+ despite signal strengths being the same. No 5g with either carrier.
  27. ANGIE74's avatar
Ported out and found still being charged, luckily only the 1p charges. Come back to the thread to see I have to cancel. I have never had to do this before. Porting out usually cancels the account. See the terms and conditions posted above say you have to pay for the 3 months, so 3p. Just contacted them on chat to cancel.
