Do these work with the TP Kasa App?
    chopper603's avatar
No, unfortunately they don't (I use Kasa for all my automation and CCTV stuff)

Ordered some of the white ones (2 for 12.49) yesterday. Is it possible to mix these and Philips in the same room, so I can say to Alexa to turn off the lights and it will do them all?
    RooGuru's avatar
Yeah, really easy, just put them in the same room

I know we can control these with the App, but are you able to connect to a smart switch and when turn on and off at the wall?

I'm awaiting then in the kids bedroom and aiming to make them as simple as possible to use.
Also are there any colour setting l selecting remote switches?

As jazzman said below but in settings there is a box to tick for power on.
So if the internets down or your phone isn't with you.
You turn the wall switch off and back on and the lamp comes on. like a backup.
I swapped out Hive for these for better features.

Got 6 of them on 1 fixture. They work great and we're £7.50 a month ago.

Keep in mind that the TP app doesn't have any widgets on android so you need to actually go into the app(or ask Google) to turn them on/off
    londonstinks's avatar
Yeh i would really like a widget for the app

    Is this the right app?

    Yeah

With bulbs like these, do you just permanently leave the light switch on?
    Chemical's avatar
Yeah needs to always be switched on, I got the exact same on a few days ago and works perfectly. I used to pay £20+ for hive ones but this works exactly the same

They connect on 2.4Ghz only and, in my experience, run very warm.
    Chemical's avatar
Warm? I have zero heat from my bulb and it’s on all night. Strange

I got them off this seller on eBay for £5 each. they did other sharp bulbs as well

    Eve_h's avatar
You can turn them off and on through the app and set up timer for them as well.
They work on multiple apps. Plus some apps have a light to sound function

Got 3 of these last Black Friday. One of the 3 goes crazy from time to time. Kind of like those light shows at the World Cup. Thought it was on its last legs, but it’s massively overheating. Swapped out for a Phillips instead which are all top quality.

Not sure if I just got a bad one or if that’s a more common issue.

Does this work with Google home?

    yes

I wish there was a screw in at this price.. An E27 type.. I can only see them at £12.99

Gave it a go. Many thanks for posting.

How are these compared to the Xiaomi ones Maplin were selling a while back?
    Majid401's avatar
Don't buy Xiaomi ones. They are a pain. I have one with me. You can have it for free..

The reason is Xiaomi uses own particular software, connecting to Google home is a pain. Often disconnects randomly.

Got to say, of all the cheaper end of the smart plugs/bulbs etc, these are the ones I've been most impressed with, in terms of quality, colour and ease of set up.

Is it possible to set up routines with these?
With Philips Hue it is not possible in bluetooth mode. It requires the bridge (edited)
    Mr.Lucky's avatar
Yes it is possible to set routines in the app.

Are the non-white colours just as bright as 9w (eq. to 60w incandescent)? Ordered some chinese ones from AE and whilst the white is decent, the colour ones are really dim.
    Majid401's avatar
Actual colours are naturally dim unless you make them more lighter
  17. Amano_Jaku's avatar
Does anyone else has the issue of, if turned off by the switch rather than the app. It doesn't turn back on unless it's resetted. (edited)
