Just picked up this at the HMV store in Newcastle (Northumberland St). This store is not closing down and staff said the deal was nationwide. Cheapest I've seen it is £29.43 on play.com, bargain at this price.
Finally, for the first time, all three extended editions of The Lord Of The Rings come alive in high definition Blu-ray! See the epic trilogy the way it was meant to be seen with the complete re-mastered box set containing The Fellowship Of The Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return Of The King!
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy tells the story of Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), a hobbit who battles against the Dark Lord Sauron to save his world, Middle-earth, from the grip of evil. In the films, Frodo and his fellowship of friends and allies embark on a desperate journey to rid Middle-earth of the source of Sauron's greatest strength, the One Ring -- a ring that has the power to enslave the inhabitants of Middle-earth. The trilogy tells tales of extraordinary adventures across the treacherous landscape of Middle-earth and reveals how the power of friendship, love and courage can hold the forces of darkness at bay.
The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring: In a time before history, in a place called Middle-earth, a dark and powerful lord has brought together the forces of evil to destroy its cultures and enslave all life caught in his path. Sauron's time has come and he needs only one small object - a Ring that has been lost for centuries - to snuff out the light of civilization and cover the world in darkness...
The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers: The fellowship is now divided with Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John-Rhys Davies) helping to restore some order to the land of King Theodon (Bernard Hill), whose mind has been poisoned by the machinations of Grima Wormtongue (Brad Dourif). Wormtongue is a secret emissary of wizard Saruman (Christopher Lee), now ready to unleash his army of the night on Middle-Earth. Meanwhile, Frodo (Elijah Wood) is falling deeper under the dreaded influence of The Ring, as he journeys with Sam (Sean Astin) towards Mordor...
The Lord Of The Rings - The Return Of The King: It is time. For Frodo to overcome the wickedness of Gollum, the horrifying attack of the colossal arachnid Shelob and the soul-twisting allure of a ring that resists destruction. For Aragorn to take up the sword of his forebears and the crown of his birthright. For the mighty clash that wizard Gandalf calls "the great battle of our time." And for the inspired culmination of the films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's literary classic. For the third time, a Rings movie was a Best Picture Academy Award nominee and for the first time it claimed that prize (plus 10 more). The King deserves its crown.

sorted byWell done, it wouldnt be a LOTR Extended deal without somebody posting about the disc swap...
Maths fail.
Couldn't agree more, who wants to swap discs in the middle of a movie? Be like rolling the clock back 40 years to Saturday Morning Pictures, without the bird selling ice-creams!!
By the way, where did you see that deal, can't find it on HUKD?
Oh, that explains it. I thought it was a health and safety initiative to make sure you got a break from your dustbin of popcorn and gallon of coke, got off your fat ass and took some f**king exercise during the movie...

*yawn*
Honestly that extra £4.99 for the box is worth it enough. Looks a lot better in your collection than the usual 3 boxes. But each to their own.
Some people just want to watch them, some want to watch and collect.
Was there many copies there?
I heard the theatrical Blu Ray transfer was terrible, nowhere near as good as these, so I think it's worth the extra £15 for that, along with the nice boxset, extended versions themselves and the extras included.
Heat from me as I've wanted it to drop to this price for a while.
not sure if i posted it, but I got them Saisburys
just watch in dvd quality ;/

It's only the movies that are Blu Ray, the extras are DVD format.
Just seems a bit overkill if you are not interested in all the extras and only want to see the extended versions of the movies.
I would rather pay around £18-20 for a 6 discs version than £25 for a lot of discs I'll never watch.

If you don't want the extras try HMV in store as my local shop had all three extended versions individually in the three for £20 or five for £30 section
It never will be. This has been out for yonks and it has always hovered around this price. Never lower. You are getting like 25 hours of content.
I don't really understand why anyone would think it's not a good deal. Theatrical version aside, for less than £30, average £10 a film (obviously slightly less with this HMV deal), considering it's the sought after "Extended" editions, in some fancy packaging for fans with tonnes of extras... I'd say it's more than worth it at this price, it stands out as a particularly good deal to me because I recently bought The Hobbit 3D Blu-ray for £20, granted not such a good deal, but a new release none the less. Only thing that lets it down is that the extras are apparently DVD, but ah well.

Got to love the Internet, hassle free. Granted not £25, but doesn't half save some hassle and leg-work! base.com/buy…htm
