What's the use case for this? Seems outrageously overpriced.

connect to your laptop, have external montior, keyboard/mouse/network cable etc all patched in

Seems rather expensive though, IMHO seems a little too expensive though not sure if this is a good or bad price, so not voting either way

I run three monitors on my Lenovo laptop from a single USB c hub - circa £40. One of them is 4k although I don’t think it would run two 4k monitors. But it’s a huge saving over this big box

There’s a big difference between usb c and thunderbolt docks.

usb c is the connection shape, while thunderbolt like usb 1.2, 2.0 is the connection standard and thunderbolt 3/4 docks do cost a lot more than usb docks.

TB docks are required when running multiple monitors off a single port from an Apple, I’m in the market for another TB dock as I’m currently running a TB dock to connect my monitors and a usb dock to connect my other stuff as my TB doesn’t supply enough power to the laptop and enough ports for everything else.

having said that.. this is a normal price for a thunderbolt dock even after the discount, doesn’t have enough ports and they are better makes out there for around the same price.

I guess it depends on your setup but I’d rather have more thunderbolt ports. To me that’s the main reason to buy a thunderbolt 4 dock over 3. This is probably partly a reason for the price drop.

Glad my work provides this for WFH for the old dual monitor setup. Wouldn't pay this much otherwise.

These are great devices, really shows what USB C is capable of, have power, monitor, network, sound, webcam, keyboard and mouse all attached and when working from home just plug single USB C into laptop. However I paid £55 for a new one from a well known auction site so would say this is a little over priced.

I've got a "lesser" USB C Lenovo dock. Not as high spec, but I can run a 2nd monitor plus usb 3 ports for hard drives. Think it was £40 new on eBay. So shop around if you don't need this spec as there is a lot of choice on docks. (edited)
