Forgot to mention. I use travelrepublic because if the price does go down during the year you can cancel and re-book at the cheaper price. The £40 cancellation charge applies but on re-booking £15 of that is refunded.

Maybe I've been lucky but I've flown with Ryanair about 30 times and only once was the flight delayed and that was only for 35 minutes. I know O'Leary has quite a few sneaky practices when it comes to seating and luggage but as long as you know the score they're almost always the cheapest if you fly with a small bag. I booked last week from Liverpool to Palma Mallorca beginning of Easter half term for 2 adults return total cost £109 including speedy boarding and bags/cabin suitcase on board.

Glesgabear

I’ve flown with my family on Ryanair flights from all over the UK literally dozens upon dozens of times and from experience I honestly think they get a bad press. Yes they’ll get you for everything if your willing to pay for it (seat selection, baggage, priority boarding, food, etc, etc), but these are all totally voluntary, if your not wanting to pay for any of these, you’ll still get on the same flight without paying any extras. They’re no worse than any of the other mainstream airlines out there for a jaunt around Europe. You get what you get and like the masses now, most sugar coat their flights, but there’s very few who offer anything more than a basic “no frills” service. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

rogparki

Ryanair involved :( :S . Be prepared to spend your hard earned "cheapo " holiday in the departure hall of your chosen airport . Or pay a bit more (perhaps? ) and book with a reliable, customer focused airline (which is any of them apart from the "Anything for profit " bandits AKA Ryanair ) :( .

Giwin

60 pounds fine, might be worth it ^^

Madgick3

@sheffield778 there is some mental deal listed elsewhere for 2 adults and 2 children to go to Salou Spain for 9 night, like £320. Search HUKD for Salou Spain Holiday. Seemed totally bonkers price to me

sheffield788

I miss these prices. When I did not have kids and people were telling me they were paying thousands to go to Spain, Canary Islands, etc, I thought they were out of their mind. I was paying £500. Now, with children and during school holidays, I barely can find something under £1,500. I booked for a eurocamp near Salou in the last week of May, £1,600 for a week flights and accommodation for 2A+2C and this is cheap. In July was almost £3,000. Used to pay for flights to Alicante max £300 for 2, now is £1,000 minimum. By the way, who wants to go in Feb to Alicante, on the 19th Ryan Air price is £4.99 from East Midlands. Good luck coming back, can't find anything at a reasonable price. Voted hot!

I went for my 60th birthday weekend in early March last year and it was glorious - clear blue skies and around 21C. I'd thoroughly recommend a visit - the place is absolutely fascinating and the retail therapy first class!! We flew with Turkish Airlines for £110 return each - the service, meals onboard were exceptionally good and light years ahead of BA. Stayed at a fantastic boutique hotel virtually across the street from the Grand Bazaar and 5 mins from Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia etc) called 'Hotel Niles' for about £45 per night for the room including a fab buffet breakfast. Only 4 rooms were being used as it was out of season so we got an automatic upgrade to a suite. I'd go back like a shot!

crazy_kalz

I was there this March gone and I got sunshine everyday around 17°C to 20°C but once it's dark it gets a bit cooler. So you need a jacket I'd say!

The alternative is you pay £200+ a night to stay in a crap B&B near Tollcross. This is a bargain and about a 30-40 minute bus ride into Edinburgh on the First bus 27/28 for about £6 return which takes you right onto Princes Street.

walke_mr

There's a Mecure, premier inn and a travel lodge in Livingston which are all cheap I'm often up there with work

panddda

If anybody has booked this on a whim because it's so cheap, and then changes their mind, then give me a shout and I'll buy it from you - it would have been ideal, and chances of it being the one night that we actually need in the area we want too... snooze/lose!!

panddda

Ahh, how frustrating - I actually happen to need a hotel somewhere near Edinburgh Airport on the very night of the 16th ready for our Norwegian flights to Connecticut on the 17th but can't find this on Travel Republic at all now - even if it wasn't great it would have done the job for an overnight stay! Can you still see it online Rachel? Thanks for posting!

Sounds a good deal too, unsure how much it would be for a 5th person though and you may find even though the villa sleeps 5 you have to pay for an extra person. Unfortunately the flight prices around this time tend to be quite expensive too. Still you got a great price for a villa.

scunny

Nor ours. Break up on 25th

margamboy

I have booked dates very similar to these for Menorca give or take a few days either side and I think I have a better deal, the total for me came to £1245 that included return flights with Thomsons at good times i.e 7am out and 11am back, inc luggage. Car hire for the week fully insured for 2 drivers and a private villa with pool full air con, WiFi etc, but this was for 4 not 5, but the fifth would only need a flight as the villa accommodates 6.

Hi for Barcelona how many days you recommend as I never been there

binkygriptite

Indeed, first day you're not checked in until 8pm if you're lucky... find some food and it's virtually time to board the sleepytime express to Bedfordshire. Second day is yours to visit two or three of the hundreds of attractions (or cram many more in without pausing for breath). Third day you're looking to make your way to the airport at 11am. Nice idea but you need way more time in Barcelona unless your intention is just to add another notch to your travel bedpost or impress your mates with a random Facebook check in.

Those who find this so dangerous, dont need to waste their valueable bargain hunting time on this thread. Due to dipping Pound value, its barely affordable for Little Englanders. For me it looks like a good deal.

roblatus

As stated earlier. I concede that there is a risk in our own country. what people in favour of this deal seem to have trouble understanding is the Fact that our authorities, police, intelligence services and indeed other emergency services are much more adept at dealing with it when it does unfortunately happen. this is simply not the case in countries like Tunisia and Turkey and was brutally demonstrated in the Tunisia attack, which a friend of my wife's Grandmother was killed in. despite going to Tunisia for umpteen years because it was lovely and the people where so kind and welcoming.

roblatus

yes. I am also aware they our previous PM wanted to roll out the red carpet for them to join. I stand by my remark.

JonDOnnis

There is a reason why its cheap you know! And for people saying that this is in a safe area, remember you have to land at an airport first you know! You couldn't pay me to go to Turkey, A once secular country now going backwards with Dictator Erdogan slowly turning it into a new Islamist State

Car hire price is unbelievable but Martin from MSE has said that you can get a car for £4 if you book in advance BUT look for fuel policy as they charge a lot for fuel so always go for Full-And-Full. Also, get excess insurance from third party and not from the car provider, take pictures of the car with damages and keep a receipt of the last fuel top-up to show as a proof.

Disco.Dave

This company have just appeared on Rip off Britain. The holiday someone booked was not covered by abta. As they are just an agent for third party

katekatrin1981
