About this deal

Not sure if there are all that many on the lookout for something like this, but at under £14 using the £4 off voucher, it's looks really reasonable.

Can I use this to turn my personal Blurays into digital media? Like, play on PS5 and send output via this cable to a laptop?

What kind of software do I require on Windows?

Hi. Yes, in theory. So download an video capture program such as obs or stream lab. There will be an option to record. The file output may be huge but you can use something the Handbrake to reduce the file size

Could you use this to record of your tv ?

I'd like to know this too but guessing you probably cannot. Most HD sources such as Sky use something called HDCP to restrict this.

Just bought one of these. Works great to use my digital camera's HDMI Out as a camera to record on my pc because it was made before the time that became a feature over USB.

The first salvo of cheap ones got the nickname "Cantlink" and yes, that.

Has anyone actually used this to capture gameplay footage, or is anyone using it for recording/streaming gameplay?

I guess for me its going to be useful feeding either my phone or tablet as a larger viewscreen for my DSLR, and not sure if it may help convert some old home videos currently on dvd (but then wouldnt a pc do a better job??) - only one way to find out

Anyone know if this would work with recording from an Xbox 360?
