If you are a loyal customer, they will increase or double the price im getting renewal offer , and they offer me £92 and I was paying £31.
Never stick with virgin media better to end up contract and get new one as a new customer

If you live with someone, get them to sign up on their name. Me and the wife ping it between us to get new customer deals for the last decade

Does this work for renewals, or new customers only?
Unfortunately community fibre is not in my area.
    Alex_H's avatar
Will be new customers only. Best to cancel when your contract is up and wait for the renewals team to call you within your 30 days notice. They have the best deals, just compare it to this price.

Could anyone please advise on this.
My current VM contract is ending in early May. Do I have to wait until then, to renew or end the contract.
Also, I have the old WiFi hub, do these new deals come with the latest kind WiFi6 routers. Hence, if I only renew current contract, will I end up having to use same router or they would send new WiFi6 hub etc? (edited)

I would probably put a reminder on my calendrer to contact them 30 days before the end of contract, and ask for any deals available, usually they wont give you better deal unless they can see that you will look around as well for better deals and might leave them as well......
regarding the router upgrade i dont think you will get a new router when you get a new contract( unless there is a new installation), you can request them while you getting a new/renew contract, also you can talk to faults team and mention that if you not satisfied with the router x/y/z reason they might send you new one.
P.S Generally i am not much satisfied with any routers I have got uptill now from any ISP's

It's a shame Virgin are the only company that offer good internet speeds in my area. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. They're up there with, ironically, O2.

I’m just leaving Virgin. Going with Toob 900 Mbps for £25 a month. I got fed up with mid contract price rises that are now part of any new contract. Also fed up ringing and having to go though retentions every year to get a deal.

Same here, left VM after contract end and went with Community Fibre getting 1 GBPS effectively for £19pm

Then at the end of the 18 months you bill be charged over £60 for the privilege of you 1Gb connection. VM shaft existing customers

    No
You can then renegotiate contract or leave.
I am with VM for last 20+ years and never paid what they says will be after 18m.

Honestly only join Virgin is you have no other option. You will regret signing up with them.

I don't understand why people are so much criticising VM
With them for over 20 years and they have been the BEST.
And to be very honest, almost all major provider gets same bad CS feedback.

As a customer of virgin media for over 25 years, we left them in the last 6 months, as Got fed up of constant price rises and the customer service, and moved over to brsk for 35 quid month, 900Mbs broadband (synch speeds) . Was paying 45 with virgin for 1Gig.

Since the national full fibre rollout has reached more and more people in the last 3/4 years, people like you and me who were on the fence but had no VM competition have finally been able to move to other providers. It's great! I'm still glad VM were around, they helped push acceptable speeds up, and now we have so much choice!

Virgn Media still give me nightmares, the yearly (18 monthly) negations were truly painful. Still had to do it as they were only high speed provider. As soon as I had another option (Grain connect) in my area I left, did not even talk to them just cancelled.

I am guessing many people will change as and when an alternative arrives.

Only people they will keep are the ones who want TV, too scared to change or have more money than sense. (edited)

    Totally agree
Dread the time when the contract is due to expire, and will have to go thru the whole rigmeroll of threatening to leave (last time I got as far as a termination date, they pushed me that far).
I keep saying to convert all my accounts and contacts to my Gmail address, and get rid of my ntlworld email address, but there are that many. Virgin said that ntlworld email address will expire if/when I leave (edited)

Renewal offers are still there but Virgin really make you work for them now, I've just resigned for another 18mths 1Gb BB at £27pm but getting it down to that took many hours on Chat (before and after cancelling)
    Blazzz's avatar
Do you get a new WiFi6 router or similar, when you move to the 1gb plan.

I posted this deal in a reply and it was £137 cashback:52481184-2r0qR.jpg
However I went to check the deal again and now it's only offering me £125 cashback!

Left VM after they kept me on the phone for 4hrs trying to cancel. Went with city fibre.

Disconnect 1 month before contact end and then wait for loyalty teams call. You get offers similar to new customers from them.
    C.D's avatar
I had to do that to get the same price as a new customer. I then advised my partner to do the same, she had to go thru the same rigmeroll which ab stressed her out. It shouldn't be like this. I thought new laws stopped companies giving better deals to new customers, than to existing customers?

Fibre now in my street so likely won't renew with VM, although I've had it for free since August so will see how long that lasts for before I do leave!
  15. jinsta's avatar
Virgins sort of the sports direct of pricing really. I renewed mine in Jan and paying £32 for 1gb BB/basic 360 tv/phone line. If you are with them, worth haggle come renewals really.
    mr-mixalot's avatar
I've been on this package since May last year & am paying £31 (no price rises applicable) & due to renew in Sept this year, however I just have broadband only which I'm happy with

Horrible company/customer service since covid. Also their internet service is one of the worst, I’ve had.
  17. Ryan_Curtis's avatar
I pay £85 (£25 is for a o2 contract 200gb data unlimited Call/text) so in essence, I get 1gb internet (which I do get), all sky sports/sky movies etc tv plus phone line (I don’t use it) which is £60 a month. I also got a free Xbox x (present for my son last Christmas) and £100 cash back which I got last month. I’d say it’s a wicked deal tbh.

Hated VM. Was the only high speed provider for years and massively over subscribed down our street so the network congestion was awful.

Community fibre got installed, switched over and get full 1gbps up and down for half the price. I’ll never go back to VM ever again.

Just renewed last week with the mega volt package for £60. Was paying £45 last contact so I think this will be our last year doing the renewal dance.
    Community Fibre in my area

That's pretty good. They were charging me £63 a month and wanted to increase it by 17% when I dropped them to move to Vodafone. Hope there's a deal like this when my Vodafone contract finishes.
    StaceyQ's avatar
You'll probably get a better deal with Vodafone tbh

Does anyone know whether the virgin engineers will install into the loft? I've put a network switch in the loft to distribute to the house and would prefer it in the loft.
    StaceyQ's avatar
Is it floored as they're likely to refuse otherwise for health and safety reasons alone.

How quick is it to claim the cash back? How long do you have to wait before you can claim? First time attempting to claim cash back (edited)
