sorted byO2 deals use O2 network. O2 deals link with Virgin Media deals under Volt. Virgin Mobile does not get these benefits. They are two separate carriers.
The owners of O2 and Virgin Media (including Virgin Mobile) are Liberty Global. They gave Vodafone notice they will end the deal. That deal signed in Oct 2019 was for five years. Although it’s not clear if those five years start then or when customers began transitioning from EE in 2021.
Even their own website for this deal is out of date. They describe their 4G as faster than O2, Vodafone and Three inferring they are still on EE
I am not to savvy & a bit thick so please bear with me & help me understand just to ensure I do not mess up or believe whatever the telesales might say!
I currently have Virgin Media Broadband/TV & also a Virgin Mobile accounts - I know they are two separate divisions.
So, if I upgraded my Virgin Mobile to this 100mb deal then the Volt offer of doubling Broadband Speeds & Mobile Data would NOT apply - is that correct?
If I want to double broadband speed & mobile data benefits of Volt, then I must get a new mobile deal via 02 - correct?
Many Thanks!
Is it any worse than Virgin's own mobile network may I ask? Has things improved with O2 since they have upgraded their masts & caught up with the works delayed due to Covid? I ask as that was what I was told in an O2 Shop - things were bad but now that works & upgrades are near complete, things are back to normal now? I do not know if it was just sales spiel that I was getting but the O2 online signal checker shows strong & good service for my area but again, no idea if that is in any way accurate ot just a marketing ploy.
Thanks!
Thought the lady on the phone had her wires crossed when she said you get 3 months free. But contract looks legit and just got a text confirming it will start shortly. Happy days
