Decent price on this 47cm Weber Classic Kettle BBQ (save another couple of quid if you have a Fee free card also)

Newly restored back to Weber's range the Weber One Touch Original charcoal barbeque brings back the ultimate style icon with its classic profile has become synonymous with outdoor cooking and backyard summer fun. With its legendary design the Weber One Touch Original charcoal barbeque delivers exceptional results every time. Go on, treat yourself to a design classic.

With its classic design modelled after the world’s first kettle barbecue, invented by George Stephen in 1952, and its handy features, like charcoal rails, built-in tool hooks, and state-of-the-art cleaning system, the only worry is what’s for dinner.

Built with a sleek porcelain-enamelled bowl and lid, the Classic Kettle Charcoal Barbecue truly is the gold standard in barbecuing – able to withstand years of high heat, while also extremely easy to clean and maintain. Its rust-resistant aluminium damper controls airflow, and a built-in lid thermometer helps you monitor the barbecue’s temperature. Glass-reinforced nylon handles with built-in tool hooks keep your utensils within arm’s reach, and a lid handle with heat shield protects your hand from the flame. The Classic Kettle’s durable all-weather wheels let you move your charcoal barbecue around the patio with ease, and spring-clip, push-pin legs allow for easy assembly – you’ll be up and barbecuing in no time!

Feed your family or a few close friends on the Classic Kettle’s 47-cm plated steel cooking grate. Its two convenient charcoal rails make it easy to arrange and keep briquettes in place to accommodate indirect cooking. Simply hook them on opposite sides of the bowl and add lit charcoal to slow roast over indirect heat. When it’s time to check your food or add fuel, hang your lid on the hook attached to the barbecue’s body to free up your hands. In the bottom of the bowl, a heavy-gauge steel charcoal grate holds a large amount of hot burning briquettes without warping – its bars are close enough together to keep even diminishing coals from falling through. After barbecuing, the aluminised steel One-Touch cleaning system sweeps charcoal ash from your barbecue’s bowl in an instant, and the removable aluminium ash catcher keeps soot contained in one convenient location for quick, hassle-free cleaning.

Ridiculous that I’m asking, I have the 57cm version of this but almost no idea how to use it. I seem to get 15-20 mins max out of one of those burn bags and then the heat is gone. Any suggestions or tips on how to actually use it?

First tip is not to use burn bags / instant light and instead use weber bbq briquettes (normally around £18 for a 8kg bag which). They keep hot for at least 4+ hours and a bag will last you for 5 to 6 BBQ,s

Second tip would be to invest into a fire lighting chimney is well worth the investments (lights the coal very quickly and ready to cook in 30 minutes max)

Amazon sell this set that includes the chimney, briquettes and firefighters. There is also an easy to follow video to get you started

I pulled a Weber out of a skip 12 years ago that is still on the go. Excellent bit of kit.

Argos have this at £132 currently if you don't want to order from Germany. They also have the 57cm for £150 which I think is the better option. I have a E5730 so it has a few extras like the ash bin and a hinged grate but the actual barbecue itself is excellent.

Lesser Bar-B-Kettle version at Argos. this is better, lid thermometer, deeper bowl and one touch cleaning

Some reviews on Weber website weber.com/GB/…ml?

Also if in the market for Weber accessories, as you've already paid delivery charges, Amazon Germany have some decent offers on a few other things (edited)

I've been toying with buying this.

I'm assuming it's far better quality than the 40 quid Wilko jobs

Also what is the chance of using this as a entry level smoker?
