Buying posh briquettes just feels like a false economy to me, unless maybe you're doing some 8hr slow roast.

For the same price I can buy 40kg at the Supermarkets, and no matter how good these are I can't see them lasting over twice as long. You can add 20-30% more of the cheap stuff if you wanted and it's still more economical. (edited)

For your average backyard griller you who just needa a source of heat, you will be right. If you are planning on doing any kind of smoking or anything beyond quick bit of grilling these are miles better

Has anyone used moleonline before? Seem to only have 4 trust pilot reviews but 12k reviews on a site called trusted shops?

I've used them plenty of times, not a wide selection, but they usually discount like this in August/September. Ordered 6 bags of Briquettes before posting, would expect them here by Thursday if not sooner.

They're doing the chimney starter for £17 moleonline.com/web…630 so could add a bag of 8kg briquettes for £30.49 delivered. You'd normally get the official chimney starter set (incl 4kg of briquettes) for that price

Should be half price by now with the rotten weather we've had all summer

Have to agree with you. I work in a warehouse for a major retailer and anything summer related (bbq's, fans, patio sets, paddling pools, garden toys, camping stuff etc) are not selling. Looking at the weather forecast for the next two weeks I can not see things changing. I would expect huge reductions in the coming months. (edited)
