This stuff seems pretty good to me. It looks like a blend of wood fibre, composted bark, coir and sand. I don't think it contains any green waste compost. It is quite fluffy and there is no bad smell. It says on the bag it is not suitable for seed sowing, presumably because the relatively small chunks of wood/bark make it too coarse? Anyway here's a close up photo of the stuff.49888300-p1va6.jpg (edited)

I sowed my seeds this year in Verve Peat-free Seed & cutting Compost 50L, which I bought for £6 a bag from B&Q. The seeds have germinated well and I am pleased with that. I see it is still £6, but stocks are limited: diy.com/dep…prd

Not a bad price, thank you. It is good that the compost is peat-free.

They deliver too. It seems delivery is £7, or free if you spend over £75 (17 bags if just ordering compost). (edited)
